The staff and doctors at EJ Noble have given great care throughout their many years. They have saved lives, stabilized people who needed to be transferred, delivered MANY babies, performed many successful surgeries. Of course we need our hospital. Unfortunately the state is making it very difficult for us to have a full time hospital now. Why all the waiting? Something needs to be done to serve the people in our area.

The Hospital is very important i agree. However The Staff at the facility need to change. They show little to no respect for the individual care of the patients. Bad bed side manners. New Administration needs to hire and fire. Mix Canton-Potsdam and Watertown Hospital, and you will be treated with loving care. Whether it be in a ER setting or a long stay. The Staff at EJ Noble are very uncaring. I have been to many Hospitals due to a rare sickness, but i have never been treated so poorly at EJ Noble.
Not to mention they firmly believe that everyone that enters the doors in the ER are drug seeking. What is the sense to ask what your pain is on a 1-10? if there is not going to be any actions to control or monitor someones pain?
The overall sanitary conditions of the hospital are extremely poor. Canton-Potsdam and Watertown both have there own insurance programs.
I lost my insurance and received a bill for 32 cents, the postage was 45 cents. Honestly! who the hell manages the money in that hospital!!..

People that go somewhere when they are sick or in pain do not want to have to be put through more pain and anguish. I sat at EJ Noble for 5 hours and there was one other patient there. I was very very sick and in pain. Unlike other places that would address someones pain while they were busy, i sat there for 5 hours for the doctor to come in and tell me that things look ok. Ok? my blood pressure was 145/130 and my pulse was 109 if that could not tell a "Medical Professional" that someone was in pain i don't know what else to say. I was told to take a Tylenol and rest.
Funny thing is i had been doing that, that is why i went to the ER to get help with the pain that i could not control. But instead i got a 900.00 bill and for what?
I went to Canton-Potsdam and was given medication to help with the pain and was admitted. Funny ha?

I believe that we need a Hospital in Gouverneur but with new Staff!

So you just admitted that the reason you went there was to get drugs, and now we should listen to you?

No, i simply stated the meer facts that EJ Noble lacks compassion and caring for those who REALLY suffer from medical problems that cause discomfort or pain. If you are struck with pain and have exacerbated all ways to dealing with it, be over counter medication, etc. What are you left to do?..
Most Hospitals will address the pain/discomfort while waiting for tests to come back, which is the sensible thing to do. Not EJ Noble, there you wait in pain for the doctor to get to the er, then you are seen, asked what your problems are and your pain level, then test are done, and if you are lucky at the end of the 5 hour wait you may get a Tylenol; if you are lucky! Which defeated the purpose of seeking medical help in the first place. When over the counter pain medication is not helping, most medical professionals will tell you to go to your nearest er.

But in retrospect i never asked you to "listen" to me. You on your own chose to read what i wrote and respond.

I agree that not all the staff members are friendly and helpful. But no matter what hospital you go to, things are not always going to go perfectly. You have friendly nice staff, and you have some that are not friendly and nice. I have dealt with many hospital staff people through the years while my elderly parents were in hospitals such as Mercy, House of the Good Samaritan, and Claxton Hepburn. Have you ever seen a "perfect" hospital with "perfect" staff, and "perfect" care. We need our hospital even if there are imperfections.

I am not saying our Community does not need EJ Noble, i am saying that EJ Noble needs new Administration, Staff, and Doctors. One in which they follow the RULES and LAWS of NEW YORK! SO many board members have stepped down, does anyone know as to why?
They did so, to leave there obligations and responsibilities behind. They knew they would be looked at in the decision making and did not want the heat. Besides, Gouverneur is a nothing town in the middle of nowhere. Why would any Doctors come here? Why not go somewhere where they can make GOOD money? i will tell you why.. The Doctors around here have bad re-pores in other places, there qualifications are limited. Why else come from far away to here?
Bottom line... If the Hospital was so great, the Department Of Health would not be in and out of there on a routine bases.

Let know one forget the incident of the man that died from a mishaps with a "Blood Transfusion"

And everytime someone goes in the emergency room they think people is on drugs when their not and Dr reason has been the best for years and Dr pushin tells u to take whatever u want even though ur pregnant the nurses in maturnity tries to give u oxycodone while ur pregnant!! Or they just dont listen to people's girlfriends or boyfriends and u just get into a fight with the nurses or drs about someone being sick and need to be sent somewheres else after staying their in a chair or the nurses accuse u of blowing ur bf in the hospital down in the newer part of the hospital

Yah, sure.....if your child needed IMMEDIATE CARE...then you would neglectfully drive an hour or more and not get immediate care. You make a ridiculous statement going along with someone else that is also not very bright.
My children were born at EJN....we all got excellent care. While my children were growing up, I had to take them to the ER on different occasions, and they got excellent care. I also got excellent care when treated at the ER on a number of occasions throughout many years. Thank God for EJN. We need our hospital.
If you choose to drive an hour or more, then that is your right. If the rest of us choose to go to EJN, then that is our right. Keep up the good work EJN.....WE WANT YOU BACK!

I see how the minds of the people work when you talk about the staff of ejn. Why put them all down bcuz they all are not the same. Some of the staff are very endearing people, who have to work in an environment which doesn't give a rats ass about them or their jobs. Dont just use the words them or they, use names of the people whohave ticked you off.
