Sure there's plenty of money in Waynesboro. They just don't flaunt it like the rich elitist liberal snobs that live on park and locusts streets in C-Ville.

I don't know anything about the snobs in C'ville but I personally know three millionares in W'boro. I talk to one couple quite frequently and you would never know they had that kind of money. Super nice, down to earth folks. Have even seen them in Walmart!!
So you don't have to flaunt it just because you have it. Good point C'V P !!

Comments about Charlottesville residents have absolutely nothing to do with this story, but since it's been brought up, I agree that most on Park Street and Locust Avenue are liberals. That doesn't automatically make them elitist snobs, or for that matter, rich. Some are elderly and have lived in those neighborhoods for years. I know for a fact that like many of us,some of them are struggling to keep their homes due to the city's high real estate tax rates. I do wonder why, given that fact, they continue to support the Democrats of this city.

I live in Charlottesville, in the Locust Avenue area, though not directly on that street. I don't see that people on either Park or Locust are flaunting whatever wealth they might or might not have. There are some lovely homes, but some that are beginning to show signs of neglect if observers take a closer look. Speaking for ourselves, my husband and I keep a well maintained yard and house, not through the use of a gardner or painter, but through our own hard work. Just to set the record straight, I'm not liberal, not elitist, and I hope not a snob. Good for those who do have the money to help this country's colleges in these tough times.

Well if any of the elderly residents are struggling because of high taxes then they have thier tax and spend democrat neighbors to thank.

I agree that it is good for someone to give such a nice gift to a university. Thank god that man was able to take advantage of capitalism and build his wealth. Because there is no other economic system in the world that has created more wealth than the one we have in America. Although our way of life and prosperity is under attack.
