Parents should not let children be in reach of a pistol that they should have a talk with them and and show them how dangerous they are.

HUH, easier said than done. Question is do those parents consciously know having children? If parents are on drugs, drunks or just not wanting the child from beginning, the child grow up alone, lonely and will do what is seas others are doing because it doesn't have any guidance and motivation from anybody.
A good communication is a key to everything! It does not mean if you disagree there was no communication...but, if only one person talks and don't recognize right of other person, regardless of sex or age...it is one-sided talk but no communication. Unfortunately, most children are growing up alone and without communication, love and care.
We need to reduce population so that everybody has time to love, care and communicate!

Texas--what do ya expect? They produce Bush ('controlling' the greatest assortment of arms ever known to man) and a gun-toting 4th-grader with neither one capable of sensibly handling the arsenal at their respective disposals. Too bad we can't suspend or expel Bush as easily as his child protege.

What does Bush has to do with parents not teaching and controlling their children's behavior?
Build a "Booth Camps" for school age children where they will spend 3 months each year instead of building jails to put them in when they get their 18th B-day and above!
