I am not a hypocrite, just someone who has seen the people in this town on federal aid with there hands out driving nicer cars than I do. So yes, there is alot of lazy trash in Antioch. Let's all explain why our lives suck when THIS CHILD AND TEACHER ARE THE ONES IN THIS SITUATION?

Go take your problems out in a blog, you "typical" Antioch citizen...(yes, that is sarcasm).

Whatever the truth is it will come out. But if you are the parent or any realative involved in this your attorney should have advised you not to make any comments on any public forum such as topix or FB because it can be used in court if they subonea records. I know you want to defend the situation but you need to remember things can copied and posted over the internet..

While I commend you for bringing this to our attention, you should not have put your daughter on tv. If she is picked on now imagine what its going to be like for her now. And whatever reason the school board has for not saying anything they have their reasons even if they have not been on tv. This is a sad situation for all involved and that includes the teacher and the students at AES.

Everyone's got an opinion, and when you invite the scrutiny of the masses (by tweeting Larry Yellen who's always looking for something to sensationlize), you invite the negative with the positive. Why not wait until you see how the district reacts before sensationalizing this with the media? If, as you say, you truly had respect for the school and staff, why take that route on the night of the supposed incident, when the school hasn't even had a chance to investigate? If you have never had a problem with the teacher, why not meet with her and the principal/school board to discuss first before calling the news media in? I commend you for standing behind your kid, but I think your methods invite the opinion that you are doing this for the attention and likely have a bigger agenda. And then the bid for sympathy by bringing all of the suffering your child has endured to media attention?

I don't know anyone involved, except the teachers and staff at AES. I don't quite get how people can talk about delays and coverups - this happened Tuesday. It's now Friday. That means 2 business days to investigate. If you are the victim (and that's meant to encompass BOTH sides of this), would you consider two buiness days, ie 16 hours, enough time to investigate and come to a conclusion of this magnitude?

As to those who say there is never any reason for a teacher to put their hands on a student, look where AES is located. So you'd rather have a teacher let your kid run out into traffic than have that teacher put their hands on your child? Not saying at all that's the circumstances here, but don't make a broad "never" statement. Now, if your kid is about to run into traffic, a teacher will think twice before grabbing their arm to save their life. Is that what you really want? Because that's the atmosphere you are creating.

Teachers deserve combat bat, in my opinion, there are so many kids with behavioral and other problems that act out. Parents cry that their kids aren't getting the right education but many enable their kids by not disciplining those who misbehave. The schools hands are tied by these very type of circumstances, and they have very limited avenues to address. And then when kids are expelled, the school district still has to take care of them. Effed up world we live in, huh? This entire thread makes me want to vomit.

Antioch need to learn to weed out these shitty teachers. If its not mr Owens touching girls at augs it's glashagels wife tampering with grades now this asshole. It's a sad day when you can't even send your child to school without having to fear crap like this. And the way this town works they'll give him paid leave and his job back even after everyone's seen the bruises they were pretty visible to me at least but the vision is a lil messe up cuz our school board officials all seem to have at least one blind eye

Why does everyone bitch that ppl have welfare? It's a service any one of us could go and get maybe not a lot but most ppl are eligible for some help. I work 30 hours a week and i can still get a link card with $200 a month on it. It's not a lot but it certainly helps the ppl who may have a nicer car then u but who also busted their ass to get that nice car only to have their lives devastated by the economy. Would u sell a good car that runs well to buy a car for $500 that is constantly being repaired? Put yourself in someone else's shoes before you make ignorant judgements about ppl who youre to snooty to look at. I know ppl on welfare who have better morals and work ethic then non welfare recieving ppl. I know single moms working two jobs 7 days a week just to scrape by and have a difficult time buying cereal an thanks to link cards she hasn't had to give away her children because of that so think of the ppl it actually helps more then the fucks just getting a check and buying crack and there's a lot less of them then you'd think

Do the facts offend you that there is alot of trash in our town? The world doesn't hate me. I work very hard and care about the situation. The situation is that everyone is so sucked in by the media and aren't waiting for the facts to come out. IT HAS ONLY BEEN 3 DAYS. I am sure a full investigation takes longer than that.

Obviously you don't know this little girl as well as you imply. First, she came to Antioch in July of 2011. I know, because I brought her there. I am her grandmother. All kids can have squabbles with their friends at one time or another. I have spent a lot of time with her and watched her be responsible for her 3 younger siblings, be abused by her mother, and told by her mother that no one would ever love her. I agree she might have some issues, but nothing like you have implied here. She will stand up for herself when people tease her or a friend. What exactly are you saying, that because she didn't get along with your kid, maybe she did something to provoke a professional teacher to leave bruises on her????? I would like to speak to the teacher or witnesses myself to know the whole story. It is my opinion that there is no justification for any teacher to leave a bruise on a student EVEN IF that student was, as you say, a bully, which we haven't heard anything like that.. except from you. We have heard several people say that she was never in trouble, a good student with excellent attendance. YOU should be ashamed of yourself.. is it your case, that because you didn't like her, that it is okay for a teacher to leave bruises on her????? I also hope it was just a temporary lack of judgement on the teacher's part.. and maybe she has an explanation.
<quoted text>
Well now that you have shared all of that, I feel very bad for your grand daughter however, you need to make sure that she gets some counseling for those issues.

All I can say is wow. To the people who are bashing this father and child, shame on you. To the people who are bashing this teacher without knowing all the facts, shame on you too. Then of course we have the "adults" here bashing each other. This is all so unfortunate. Who here can say they would not defend their child by any means necessary? Who here can say they haven't had a momentary lapse in judgement or action that they wish had never happened?

I for one will wait for the actual professionals to come to a conclusion as to what actually happened.

As for the commentary about what happened in class yesterday and what a teacher would or would not do? Well, my son confirmed that his teacher DID discuss this yesterday. You are all so quick to judge and slam each other. This whole discussion has me heartbroken.

Coming from you Jackie Lonberger someone who doesn't even have a job and is public aid all day. You have a lot of nerve to talk about that child like that. You are a prime example of why our system is flawed. I will absolutely tell the father who you are and I hope you have character witnesses to back up these things you are saying. Does your DHS worker know know about Scott's income? I highly suggest next time you decide to talk about a child you at least don't make it to obvious.

To be quite honest it is far from slanderous it was Jackie that made those posts. She can deny it all she wants but she has to be cautious were she attaches threads that lead to her Facebook page. Google does wonders if you know how to use it with wording and IP identifiers. I also had a daughter that played at Jackies house and when my daughter told me the " adults " would disappear onto a bedroom with the door closed and she could smell funny smoke, it was the last time she went over there. Point in hand here JJ and all the other posts you put on here changing your name: if you can't handle the heat, get out of the kitchen. Jackie I do recommend you delete your post on NBC's website. Don't continue to talk about a fathers child when you know what your saying is absolutely false. There is no slander in what the previous poster said about you. What I have said is true as well. You are opening the door for that father to a have vendetta against you and from the looks of it he appears to get peoples attention quick.

Well hunny this isn't Jackie, been posting under the same name on this thread the entire time, go back to page one. I am a concerned parent about our school and the teacher that has claims made against her. There is more than one parent on this website that has made the child's charachter clear on here. My daughter is in the class of the teacher in question, has also told me the girl has issues. I would be sad to see a hardworking teacher go down over false claims by people. To call the teacher out by name, to call people and their personal situations out by name, to say the streets of where people live, come on where is the privacy?? I think your are smoking and the funny smoke over by you! Get a life people really.

I have never had any problems with this teacher or the school. They all love my daughter and understand what she has been through. You all need to wait and hear the facts before you come on this forum and take it upon yourselves to accuse someone of lying. Monetary gain is laughable and my neighbors would tell you that. But if the board decides to stay on the track they are going with this I assure you it won't be me putting any money in my bank account.
Selectively quoting here, but I had to come back to this, because it's bothering me. If you "have never had a problem with this teacher or the school", and they all "love my [sic] daughter and understand what she has been through", why did your daughter go on the news saying that this teacher thinks all the other kids are angels and she's the only bad one (paraphrasing because I don't want to watch it again)? Why would you have encouraged her to make such allegations in a public forum (news media) when they contradict what you've just now stated is your position?

And if your experiences are so positive with the school and the teacher, why would you not talk to the teacher yourself before taking this to the news media? If this teacher loves your child, why have you initiated a trial by publicity?

Does the school board have an agenda against this teacher or the AES administration and are you being used as their pawn?

Something just doesn't make sense here. I am going to dig around some more.

I'm sure its not. I have also seen a post you made on NBC and your Yahoo account points to your maiden name. You are opening a can of worms young lady and instead of trying to tarnish a child on a national syndicates comment section you should put your own parenting skills in question. I still have yet to see anyone verify that any of the posts supposedly made by him. Those of you that continue to post passing yourself off as him can get yourselves in huge trouble. Maybe some of you can reflect back to the Stone controversy a couple years back in the Herald and start thinking before you post things. It is a good example of what couldpotentially happen in a situation like this

Finally, a voice of reason. Why is it so hard to believe a teacher might possibly lose it on occasion and do the wrong thing? And yes, I spoke with my son again and he told me essentially the same thing. I can only hope and pray that this is resolved quickly and fairly, for both the teacher and this little girl and her family.
