Thank you, "Whatever", and those who are trying to balance out the overemphasis on "Antioch is going to hell in a handbasket" mentality.Oh, he is in here just too scared to play at the moment.
Right now he is milling over how he can spin it back.
We are all repulsed by what we see as the 'bad element' in Antioch but to keep focus on that is insane. There is plenty of good in Antioch.
Antioch has always had a mix of people. It's not so different today, just a different mix. Look up Antioch's history. Downtown in the 1800's sounds like it was not so tame. There was a saloon known as "Bucket of Blood", with a bordello above it, and bars everywhere. Doesn't mean that's all the town was about. There were also grocery stores, department stores, thriving businesses of various types, families... all of the normal stuff that makes up a community.
The point is, any community has its good, bad, and ugly. The question is, what part is each of us going to play? Are we going to add to the good, try to counteract the bad, or just point out the ugly over and over. What is worth your time and effort?
