can you believe it? heathen bums on welfare and section 8 are cashing out millions of hard earned tax payer dollars in places like Las Vegas casinos, Hawaiian resorts and cruise ships to Florida! it's always nice to see welfare rats living better than the people paying for them to live!

It is said that the wealthy 2 percent are preparing for a massive event in the next few years. Conspiracy "nuts" are saying that there is a huge underground bunker under Denver Airport. It is a known fact that hundreds of the nations richest people are buying missile silos being converted into luxury apartments in the event of a global disaster or meltdown. We keep borrowing money from the Chinese in exchange for buying their plastic products. Respect the Asians.. they don't bittch they just work and have earned their place as a power nation.. though that was accomplished on capitalism and not their failed communist system. It's real simple. People came to this country and made it the greatest nation in the world. And then European and foriegn investers came in, bought us out. shifted things around. outsourced much of our security to other nations (Thanks to NAFTA which was the concept of both republicans and democrats) and has left the average American to lose much if not all of their nest egg. And then they allow African American welfare lazy types to sue the system. This is a distraction. to create anger and have us all hate one another instead of seeing the real problem. The greedy wealthy types. But that's just a theory of mine. one of many. I still haven't worked out all the holes just yet.:D

It's so ridiculous that our tax dollars are being wasted like this. Why do we reward the laziest and worst people in this society with taxpayer funded vacations!

Here's your link!

A Los Angeles Times analysis found $69 million was spent outside state lines during a three and a half year period beginning in January 2007 at tourist destinations like Las Vegas, Hawaiian beaches and cruise ships in Florida. Critics call that "taxpayer-funded vacations" at a time when taxpayers can't afford one themselves.

Make everyone who "takes" welfare go back to the days of vouchers. NO MORE EBT cards!!! AND make them work to receive any benefits! No more free handouts!!!

Oh but liberals say. That would be against their rights to have more children for us to pay for.

I told my wife this. She rolled her eyes. I then told my mom this and she said "They can't be used for alcohol or cigarettes.. why in the hell would they be used in Hawaii or Vegas"... She missed the point. The point is THEY'RE VACATIONING IN HAWAII AND VEGAS WHILE ON WELFARE

It seems to me that the people that are really struggling is the middle class. I see people getting welfare and section 8 getting $10,000 tax refunds and spending it all on their own unnecessary junk! This is what upsets me, people who take advantage and are unwise with their money. It's like spoiled rotten children that get older and never learn a lesson. Spending should be monitored in order to ensure proper usage and that benefits are truly needed. I often find people who take advantage get away with it while people who really need help can't find any and suffer.

You people are ridiculous. Of course there are abusers of the system everywhere. The data on card usage is collected for every state the card has been used. It just so happens that Hawaii and Las Vegas are tourist towns so the bum vacationing (opinion)is thusly formed. Do you really think that the majority of people on welfare can afford to go on vacations?

(Just little tid-bit of information) As far as Las Vegas goes, did you know that if you cash your check in a casino or use your card to get cash they don't charge a fee? While I was there, I saw many local people standing in line to cash their checks or get cash at the casino cashier. I asked what that was about and was told they don't charge any fees. Just something to think about.

FYI (my story) I have worked since I was 14 years old. I have a BA and I pay taxes too. However, I am on welfare. My oldest daughter has severe Epilepsy and is also MR. I pay $1487.00 EVERY MONTH for medications that the state does not cover under medi-cal for my daughter and have been for 8 years. When I took her to see a Specialist in AZ and used my card in Tuscon, I suppose that I was a bum vacationing on taxpayer(MY OWN!!!) money.

Is it at all possible that a person on welfare can have a family member living in a "tourist" city that they need to see? Death in the family maybe? Medical emergency?

You people are automatically ASSUMING that ALL welfare recipients are irresponsible and lazy. How dare you judge the next persons right to have children or not. Are you aware that 37% of people on welfare don't even have children? Many of them are elderly or disabled and welfare helps these people to actually afford to eat every month without having to decide between paying a light bill or getting food.
Also btw, I am married and have been for 21 years. My husband has worked all of his life as well(taxpayer). Are you saying that we should not have had children?

We pay all of this money on medications because our insurances maxed out 8 years ago and you couldn't get new insurance for disabled children or children with pre-existing conditions.

Sometimes we as a people need to think a thing through before we judge.

dID YOU ALSO NOTICE THAT ACCORDING TO THE ARTICLE, "The investigation showed out-of-state spending on state-issued aid cards was less than 1 percent of the $10.8 billion spent by welfare recipients from January 2007 to May 2010."

So in fact, you people are judging the whole based on the actions of "less than 1% of people on government assistance programs. Hmmmm....

Everyone who needs assistance is not lazy. Did anyone bother to find out what percentage of people are actually doing this? I am sure not many. However, in any environment you will find stupidand crooked people who will try to get around the system, whether they are employed or need assistance. As an IT professional, I question why these cards are accepted outside of a grocery store. I am sure that this can be corrected programmatically and that it was poor design not to anticipate this.

For those of you who have such closed minds, try volunteering in your area and see how many people have a genuine need, regardless of race!

Guru---Your an idiot...Plain and simple..I hope some day, YOU need help and YOU get judged as you are judging others...You should be ashamed of yourself for having such an attitude, however...since you seem to be completely clueless...I hold no hope of that...And yes, you moron I AM a Liberal....

I was recently at a 7-11 and the person ahead of me was buying a Monster energy drink. I was listening to the conversation and I overheard the cashier say "you cant use your EBT card to purchase a Monster drink." I was thinking to myself, of course you can't use a EBT card to buy a Monster drink...you shouldn't even be allowed to use it at 7-11. Then I was shocked to hear what I heard next. "You cant buy a Monster drink but you can purchase a Red Bull!!!!"

I was speechless. If people truly need assistance, they should only be allowed to purchase healthy food choices at select stores. Not Red Bulls at 7-11.
