When police break the law I think their punishment should be quadrupled. The police should have higher standards put on them.

Agreed. If only you guys got the respect your deserved. I'm not saying this particular individual was justified, he is undoubtedly an idiot for doing this. There are some great agents who came out of the recent hirings and some that shouldn't have made it. That's not a BP issue, that's a life issue...
I totally Disagree - Look at the True Facts - There are Illegal Drugs and more Supply than Demand all over the USA - 90% of Law Enforcement are NOT dointg their Jobs.

Back in the 60's and 70's there were some Corrupt and Lazy Cops - But Now - It is just Totally Rediculuos.

Police Should be held to higher standards - 10 years straight if they break the Law - This will weed out all the 90% of Bums in there. Quotas - Making sure the crime rates stay below a certain Level. I cannot believe the Fact that there are many Niegborhoods in the USA where you can not go out after sunset.( Polytechnic in Fort Worth for example ).

What I am saying is that 90% of cops are jsut there for the Fat Paycheck. We need to make these Guys Work.

Weapon Safety.
1. Treat every weapon as if it was loaded
2. Don't point your weapon at nothing you don't intend to shoot
3. Keep your finger straight and of the trigger untill you intend to fire
4.Keep your weapon on safe untill you intend to fire!
Too bad we don't have safety's on our service pistols.

This is probably that Killer BP who killed the Kid on the River. If the BP is not this Killer - Everyone can see the clear picture - this nut get arrested and the Killer gets away. In El Paso we live among some sick mental BP's. Apparently BP Supervisors are not doing their Jobs and keeping their Agents straight the way they are supposed to! Good thing this happened during CUSA games so out of town people realize their are many Bad Apples in our Border Patrol and the EPPD who assaulted a woman.
Ahhhh poor little boy throwing rocks at a big boy! That is what he gets for "playing" in the canel where drug trafficers play. He was not a good kid! His parents now in a law suit with the government because the hand that feed them is no longer around. They knew what he was doing down there.

It's obvious this guy is an idiot and has no business carrying a weapon with him if he was at a bar (off duty, possibly drinking). Any law enforcement officer with an ounce of common sense should know better than do what he did, if what was reported is 100 percent accurate! If this is accurate please let it be known that not all agent's would backup his behavior. Long live BP Green!

The BPA's posting comments on this blog really need to stop. Let these losers hash it out, they don't know thier arse from a hill of beans. It's truly frightening how ignorant the public is. If stupidty were a crime, 99.9 % of the idiots on here would be in jail with Mr. Pugh.

What a joke.

You should sit back, do some research and then comment. The amount of illegals make successful entries to the US is going down, thanks to these "lazy cops". These BPA's are out there doing their jobs, every day, protecting your city while you sit at home and criticize them. I'm not talking about ordinary illegals, people who are trying to come to America for a better life, I'm talking terrorists, drug dealers, felons and rapists. If you think you can do a better job, take the test and go to the academy. If you just want to complain about people for the sake of complaining, do it at someone else's expense!! This country rightfully supports the troops, it's time to also support the rest of America's protectors!

Correct, the quality of agent has really gone down. It used to be that you had to be prior law enforcement, or military to get in. Now they hire people who sold cell phones at the mall or used cars or somthing, some applicants who never even held a job before get hired. These guys go through a bs 7 or 8 week academy if the speak spanish. I have worked side by side with BP and met some quality agents, but its easy to point out the rookies and dumb shits. I don't like to bash the BP, but even several of my friends who are agents agree with me. They really need to screen there applicants better. To the professionals out there, stay safe.
And WHOSE in charge????
Your boy B.O.
Period.

Oh yeah and Janet Nepolitano.......RIGHT??????

Tell me you didn't vote for that clown.

P.S. What good are Mexican gun control laws if people like you without scruples and overtaken by greed, will take advantage of our lax gun laws to sell them to just anyone. But take heed, look at the mayor and police chief of Columbus. You will be found when they track your weapons back.

I wouldn't mind having to be responsible for the things that I am allowed to use and own, and for there being a limit as to what I am allowed to have, Mr. Lawyer. A car, in the wrong hands can be deadly, so the state requires that I take a test and get a license. It also requires that I register my car and buy insurance. It requires me to keep it in good working condition, take it in for an inspection every year and pay a yearly tax. It requires that I notify the state when I transfer ownership of it. If guns are even deadlier, and kill thousands of people a year, including lots of children, whythefuck do hickslike you believe that one shouldn't be required to do any of these things in order to own a goddam AK-47?
The second amendment comes from a time when people lived on the frontier and had to defend against Indian attacks. The only Indians that one has to defend against these days are the ones trying to rip you off at the casinos. It is outdated and requires at least a makeup. As a citizen, a tax-payer, and a voter, I have the right to express my opinion. The second amendment is not the word of God.
Chester why don't you register YOUR GUNS and leave us the fuckalone!!!!!!!!!! If you move to California or New York you can play by their rules. This is Texas & shits like you don't belong here. Bye, Bye, asswipehole.

I know this agent and he's a very good person I'm sure they did something to deserve what they did but like always and specially El Paso Times makes a judgement before investigating real facts and as always some incident happens with law enforcement they always make them look guilty when they protect us but at the first mistake they have we judge them very hard at the end they are human beings like any of us
