Be careful Vero. Making hard decisions and alienating the public go hand in hand. There's no honeymoon with this gig. Politics are laced with lies and catch phrases. Don't be a sucker. Fix what you can not what you want. Change will come with the environment you create. Good luck. I want to see you do good. Just don't lose sight of the people and become something you're not.

The benefit of law enforcement consolidation MIGHT result in the rural county parts getting some law enforcement coverage.

It's too late!! She is a proven liar and is also bought and sold. And her talk about ethics and improving the image of local government is an absolute joke. She makes want to puke!!!!

"We will not sell El Paso short just because it advances a politician's political career. We deserve better" Her words reek of personal gain at the cost to the El Paso taxpayer. El Paso can hardly manage it's bills now and all ready she is talking about more debt. El Paso has no stable future with talk such as this.

The only solution Escobar knows for any problem is to raise taxes. We have one of the highest property taxes in the state and she is already talking about raising our property taxes again. She will not make any difference she is a joke.
Welcome to El Paso the city where the local politicians will tax you out of your home. No wonder we are the laughing stock of the Texas.

Veronica Escobar wants HIGHER taxes!!! Property & school taxes in El Paso are already ridiculous for what you get in return....that is why we are leaving El Paso and heading elsewhere! Keep it up local politicians and you will drive out even more hard working people who are paying too much for taxes to support those who don't work! El Paso is a joke...just look at the fiasco our politicians created over the city benefits program. The level of local corruption is disgusting. At least we got rid of Cobos!!

Alright Veronica, I am sure that you will do what is best for our county. Don't let the negatives get to you, or to put it better, don't give your valuable time or thought to the negative comments here. All that they want is to hurt and make people's lives miserable since they don't have better things to say or do.
If they think they have it all to bring changes, then why didn't they run for County Judge, instead of critizing you, but oh no, they know better than you do.
I will say this, how do they expect to get more if they don't pay taxes, and I am not saying that you will do so, but if you do I have no problem. Nothing is free. I might not be rich, but I have never minded paying taxes to see progress. Many want and expect more, but they don't like to give their share.
So Veronica, you do your job and we the people that want change will support you 100 percent plus!!!!!!!

Sounds like more tax and spend political smoke & mirrors to me. Moreover, Mrs. Veronica Escobar wasn't she the same tool that the “El Paso Good Old Boy” network, wanted in a place of power and who fought so hard to defeat the Honorable judge Cobos in his last election.

Perhaps we have not seen the last of those farm boys from Virginia rummaging through our county courthouse.
