I agree, this has nothing to do with LC, but... I think I recall the sunday edition saying that the ELP Times was going to be taking a load of the stories since the LCSN had that fire...

I suppose the connection to this article is that Pro Ranch is opening a store in Las Cruces very soon. Additionally, in case you haven't noticed the stores in Las Cruces are taking their cues from El Paso. Last week I walked in to the Albertson's grocery store on Lohman and started to do my shopping. As I walked around the store with my nearly full cart of groceries I picked up the sales circular only to find that the only ones that they had out were in Spanish! Allow me to stat that I grew up speaking both Spanish and English and quite proficient in both. I asked the clerk for one in English and was told that they didn't have any. I could read the circular just fine, but frankly it ticked me off that they only had them in Spanish! Who do they think their clientele is? I was so angry that I walked out and left my basket sitting in the lobby. I am becoming increasingly angry at the Las Cruces stores that seem determined to turn this city into a little El Paso or a little Jaurez. IF I WANTED TO LIVE IN MEXICO I WOULD MOVE THERE!!!! This is still the US...this is still NEW Mexico! Please stop trying to superimpose your perception of a dominant culture on us! In case I'm not making myself clear...IT IS OFFENSIVE TO NON-MEXICANS TO BE TREATED AS SECOND CLASS CITIZENS IN ORDER TO CATER TO A MINORITY!

Mexico wouldn't exist without the economic support provided by Texas and other surrounding states such and Oklahoma.

I can't wait for a Las Cruces Store. Did you know the Albuquerque store had a whole cow's head in display. That was weird. But I cant wait. I'm looking forward to the Pro Ranch Market of Las Cruces.

Terrible article with only the loosest links to Las Cruces, nice copy and paste job, newsjerks!

PS -- How about mentioning WM Las Cruces plans instead of El Paso, even the lazy reporters at the Sun-News should be capable of doing that.

From all I can see the Pro Ranch store in Las Cruces is going to cater to just the illegal population...no mention of anything there for anybody else! I hope it fails!

As we feast on items of the Pros Market all of the haters will be left out. Left out of all the goodies that they have always been left out of, their entire life. Always condemning what all the goodoers are doing instead of exploring what good they can receive that the good people are enjoying.

Always Making good people feel bad. And clouding their judgement, on how to make excellent decisions and causing stress, worry, and paranoia through out their lives.

Wake UP!!! And smell the Home grown Coffee Evil Doers.

I will rephrase this:

And clouding their own,(haters) judgement, on how to make excellent decisions and causing stress, worry, and paranoia through out their evil doing lives.

You left your basket full of groceries just sitting in the lobby? I hope there was nothing in there that could spoil before it could be restocked due to your hissy-fit. How would you feel if your actions caused a child, or more to get food poisoning? What about the same happening to a pregnant woman?

Your rant is childish and racist and your actions are dispicable and selfish, and worse than shoplifting.

Walmart may be cheap but going there is a horrible experience! I've taken to shopping at Fiesta Foods and Albertsons, and I even found a way to get our Fancy Feast cat food online at Amazon.com cheaper than Walmart (and it's delivered to my door). Let's face it, Walmart is just a crummy place to shop. Stressful, the employees are unhelpful, and there's never enough open registers because the company is too cheap to hire enough cashiers to keep the long lines down.

Thank you so much for posting this comment! I completely agree with you, im tired of feeling like these states down here are catering more to the MINORITY and not remembering that this is the US! If they are going to stress spanish on us then they shouldn't discriminate and also do french and german. I get that we are close to the border but this is still America, if we went to Mexico they wouldnt learn English for us, they would expect us to learn Spanish! Get a grip Las Cruces and lets start voicing our opinions on this issue before it gets out of hand like El Paso, where you can't even get a job unless you know spanish!!!pffff!!

oh and by the way, I am hispanic so before all of you people start throwing the racism card, look around and look at the flag on our pole. If you want Mexico, then go to Mexico!
