According to the Daytona Beach News Journal on-line, "Ticketholders for cancelled shows may keep their "ticket credits" for shows in a "future season," or donate the credit "toward a tax-deductible gift..."

I did not expect to be making a sizable donation to SMT when I bought tickets. I will be filing a complaint with the state if they do not refund my money in full.

Gee, that's wonderful. Thanks so much for supporting the arts.

How about giving the theatre a little time to reorganize, like they are requesting. Give them a chance to restructre and put together a season for you to enjoy. This is the time that they need the most support from the public, not receive complaints from Scrooges like you.

How about minding your own business in NY-I don't have money to be throwing away for nothing, don't need jerks from New York judging things.

Once again, you show how compassionate a human being you are - congratulations.

First, I am not in NY, my ISP is. You might want to learn about technology before criticizing others.

Second, no one is asking you to throw away your money. Seaside has not closed - they are attempting to reorganize so as to continue to present quality plays and musicals. What I suggested was that rather than demanding your money back immediately and putting them farther in the hole, how about giving them a chance? They are doing all they can to bring you all the entertainment you paid for. It's not like the producer ran off to Tahiti with your dough. The financial rug was pulled out from under them and they are attempting to deal with the ramifications. Give them the chance!

The News-Journal actually misquoted me, Nicole Mastando, this morning. In fact, the language that they sliced up was found in a letter to our patrons from Lester Malizia indicating that SMT would greatly appreciate if patrons would "consider" giving a gift or letting SMT hold onto the credit. We do intend to give refunds for any ticket purchased and feel that is unfortunate that the NJ decided to mangle such important information.

This is the Artistic Director of Seaside. The News Journal once again did not give the full quote. We are asking our subscribers to ride with us through this difficult time in our history. If you need a refund , we will refund your money I would ask for calmness instead of threats We have always been honest with our customers and will continue on that course

You have to give them credit for not falling back on political connections to rob our CRAs for cash like those wonderfull people from the Florida International Festival aka LSO. Residents are still waiting for the distinguished Mayor Ritchey to make good on his commitment to find a sponsor to cover the $500,000 they took from our general fundlast year. If his promise is anything like the one he made to the Kingston residents about the WalMart then we will never see a dime. Support Seaside music theater & while you are at it go buy a FORD, Honda, Toyota or Nissan!

Lester, I applaud your efforts and appreciate what a difficult time this is for you and your organization. Please let me know what we, the public can do to get this wonderful theatre back up and running.

I think what has happend to SMT is a dirty rotten shame, but let's place the blame where it belongs. The fault is not SMT, News Journal or local government. The fault is Cox Media and the federal judge who stopped all contributions to the arts from NJ. It is to them that our ire should be directed.

This is a big blow to all the art festivals, performing arts events, folk festivals in Flagler and Volucia Counties. The SMT is just the tip of the iceburg. There will be many other events cancelled.
