I won't drive thru Gauley Bridge or give those shysters a penny of my money ever again. It's a dirty little speed trap of a town, and nothing more. I got a ticket last week driving to Bridge Day, forgoing 3 mph over the speed limit just as I hit the 45 mph zone. If that isn't a speed trap I don't know what is. I'm telling everyone I know to stay away, unless they want to contribute $150 to the town.

Gauley bridge could be a good tourist attractionif it wasnt for the police.They need to take his radar gun and trade it for a trash can.Keep him busy pick up trash.That would bring honest money to town. We wont take another vacation there. Cant even go in town to eat.

OK its me again i know some of the people in the town and if the law was to go who would secure the town and some of these comments people are leaving comments against the police are bcause they are jealous that there town isnt quit and peacefull as this one

#1 Gauleybridge don't want your money they all work for their own!!!1 everyone in the town works for a living so there for if you got pulled over here apparently you deserved it!!!

I have lived in this town for almost three years andi have never had to worry about anyhting this is the most peacefull town you willl ever drive through you know why becahse we don't put up with no bullshit here in this lil town and we don't take any either!!
the Gaulybridge police whom you all seem to be so mad at are the very ones who come to your rescue when they don't see you speeding and you slip on through the town or worse those of you who enjoy the lil let's see how much i can drink before i go out and jkill someone.....people like you are the very reason so many officers givve up today you expect them to run to the rescue when ever it is convienant for you and to hell with them if you don't need them...
i have an 18 month old baby that lives right on the front street if one of you would accidently hit or even scare her you would be sorry! trust me the people here in thistown know she is here and you would nevewr live it down!!!
what would happen if they just gave up and one of your family members were in trouble and there was no one to come to your rescue what would you do then? also the police might pull you ovr but they don't just spot you out of a crowd if you speed in our town you are gonna get pulled over so if ya know what is going to happen why test the police of gauley bridge.. there is also a lil boy who lives across the street from me who lives even closer to the road so ya wanna know why our policemen do their jobs now ya know!!! we of our town are proud of the good deeds our police officers do and we plan to keep them and if you can't handle that then maybe they need to come to your town!!!
there are things about them that you don't even know that make them special to the people in this town so don't talk shit unless you know what you are talkin about...

Hey Michelle, I agree with everything you are saying. The police are here for our good. The town loves what these guys do for us. They put their life on the line each and every night that they get behind that badge. They dont pick on drivers. They only enforce the speed limit laws. If you arent speeding and breaking the law, then you have nothing to worry about. They want you to come and visit our little town and enjoy yourself. They are here to protect us and our children. If you are 1 mile over the speed limit, then you are breaking the law. The signs give you the speed that you are to travel at, not 1, 10, or 15 miles over that. So if it says to do 25, then do 25. Not 26-36. If you get a ticket here for speeding, then you deserve it.
Another thing that is getting alot of attention here in this little town is DUI's. They are taking all those potential killers off the road. They are making our roads safe for our familes and yours. From my last hearing, they have an officer their with over 10 DUI's. Thats incredible for a little town like ours. So that only shows that we have the best little police force around. We now have the best officers you could get. Each and every one of them are friendly and do their jobs very very well. We are proud of them. I know when my wife and children are out and about driving in this town, that they are safe. Our finest police officers make sure of that. So lets stop bashing them for doing their jobs and give them some praise. Cause thats what they really deserve. Not the bashing from others who only got caught breaking the law.

GB is a save place and very nice people but not trying to sound offensive but there is nothing there to vaction for. Or maybe its because I grew up around here. Its a nice quite town with good people but thats it. There is nothing here what so ever. It is a dead town that keeps getting smaller. :(

Hey bev...tell your son not to speed and he wont have a problem with getting a ticket. Whats so hard for people to understand. Do the posted speedlimit and you wont be bothered with a ticket. They just dont give them to you for nothing. You have to be speeding.

That place is a speed trap. If they weren't trying to take your money, they would give out warnings for speeding instead of tickets, especially when it's a couple mph over. I'm currently trying to get out of one there that I picked up because I missed a sign...which is in a poorly posted area. If I don't get out of it, I'll never travel through that city again...I can't afford it.

I don't have any problems with GB police. Great guys and they are there in a heart beat when you need them. GB police are like any other small town force. I appreciate the fact that they are there. The only complaint that I really do have is the fact that at times they get caught up in the small town rumor mill. My husband was recently stopped, not because he was speeding or because of a problem with our vehicle, but because of a ridiculos rumor that was started by people that don't know how to mind their own business or how to tell the truth. Just remember, if you tell lies on someone, you will open up the door for lies to be told on you.
