I heard he didn't jump....his hat was still on the bridge when I went by around 6. Also heard he was local but no word on a name

He did not jump. A deputy sheriff managed to occupy him long enough for a park ranger to show up with a taser and took him down as he made a break for the railing. he went on for mental evaluation at BARH

Well, he is probably at BARH now, speaking to a social worker that is signing the final paperwork to get his SSI started. Hell, thats all you gotta do--just entertain the cops on the bridge for a while, spend a couple of nights at BARH, then you are set for the rest of your life! Just think about it--a monthly check, HUD, Food stamps, free medical---What more could you ask for? The way the economy is right now, I just wonder who will be the next one to go out there and holler that they are gonna jump? If he was gonna do it in the first place, he would have done it instead of talking about it and making a big scene. He just showed everybody that he, too is qualified for a SSI check!
