I have every confidence the eminently sensible people of Maine will reject this nonsense.

1 There is no scientific theory of ID. There is no scientific theory of creationism. It is not "just a theory". In science a theory is as high as it gets. Theories never get proven or promoted to fact or law. Theories exist to explain facts. There is more data to support the theory of evolution than the theory of gravity. Evolution is both fact and theory. Macro/micro evolution are misnomers. It's all evolution. Add up enough small changes and you get speciation. Speciation has been observed. Lady Hope lied. Evolution does not violate the 2nd law of thermodynamics. We did not evolve from monkeys. A transitional fossil would not be a half man half banana with wings and gills. It is not evolution vs creationism. There are literally thousands of different mutually exclusive creation myths. Yours is no more, nor no less right than any of the others. Have I forgotten any? |

Was this addressed to someone on this thread, or the article? -pb |
YES! The Theory of Evolution does NOT deal with: What was BEFORE the "Big Bang" What Caused the "Big Bang" Formation of the universe. How life first started. I'm sure there are more..... |

This list should be at the start of every thread ever made in regards to creationism vs evolution. Seriously. |

I would like to say that Wayne will never leave, he will just nasty away. But that would be a nasty thing to say, so I won't say it. |

It's not as entertaining without him. After all, the first three letters of "fundimentalist" is "FUN"!

It amazes me that this controversy keeps resurfacing, and is actually given any credibility, in state after state and district after district. Don't they know how to read? Haven't they seen every other ruling on the subject? Isn't it obvious to them that they are going to get smacked down if they proceed with such nonsense?
It's like a bunch of people watching one person after another run into a brick wall and smashing their heads, but then thinking that maybe, just maybe, if THEY try to run through it, THIS time it will be different and they'll be able to pass right through! Bottom line. Creationism/ID is NOT science, no matter how many science-type words you try to disguise it in. Hence, it doesn't belong in science class. Creationism/ID is religious based, hence, it is unconstitutional to push it into public schools. Case closed, you fundies really need to stop wasting tax payer money and school district time that could be used for actual education instead of lining lawyer's pockets, as we have to counter your insanity over and over again. |

One person on a board (of 11?) saying something stupid does not rate a "Fight over Evolution Looms..." headline. The board probably has to address his idiocy as a matter of protocol, but hopefully they will treat it as the pile of used food that it is.

It requires a leap of faith to believe in a God that chooses not to be seen nor known.
It requires no such thing to witness first hand that as a living orgaism's environment changes, it must adapt or die. Just put a conservative Calvinist Trinnitarrian on an open fire. If they don't grow steel skin, too bad. |
