Anyone out there remember Zayer Shopper City back in the 60's and early 70"s? We use to go there all the time- just tell mom we were headed up to "shops' and we'd be back with a ton of candy!!

There was one in Columbia Heights. They had the coolest game room. Many days were spent shooting pool, playing air hockey and pinball. Those were the days. Now all we have is super centers. What a waste!!!

I was only 1 at the time the tornados went thru but lived in Heights close to where the Shopper City store was (It's Rainbow Foods now) We shopped there all of the time up until it closed.

Help! Across White Bear Ave (to the west) from Shopper's City in Maplewood was a chicken place called Jerry's Chicken, later Jerry's Family Restaurant. They boasted "Minnesota Fried Chicken" and had the absolute best chicken and onion rings I've had in the 35 years I went there.

A number of years ago they closed - with no notice that I was aware of. Anyone know what happened or - most importantly - where to get that great chicken again?

Daily Horoscope for December 23

Capricorn

Get out your list of things to do, because you're in a very industrious and efficient mood. Start with whatever is most urgent and then carry on from there. If you seem to be doing all the work while loved ones laze around watching TV, you'll soon chivvy them along and get them to lend a hand. After all, you don't want to feel like Cinderella!
