When we all could speak english did the schools need money? Get a clue people. Things are being taken away from your kids because of this. We have to stand-up!!!!! The more people we let in. the more money the schools willneed to teach them. Who's really getting the rotten egg on this one?

There seems to be an epidemic of farting in our schools. My son said most of his class starting farting this morning at the same time, and the teacher said, "Stop the confounded farting." That comment simply caused the class to fart even more! It sounded like the baked bean cookout on "Blazing Saddles."

I graduated in 1995. When I went to school you got up and went to school with everyone else. If you didn't like how early you had to get up, TOO BAD!! Now all these districts are spendy money on alternative schools. At some point these young adults have to go out in the real world and deal with real people, why give them there own school? I also agree with Mike's topic. I really feel like people that come to this country, should have to learn the ways of our country and appreciate our county.

I'm sick of dumping money into the schools only to be asked for more the next year. Someone is mismanaging money and needs to be held accountable. When I went to school (graduated 1988), there were no special schools. There was one elementary school, I was bused to the next town for one of 2 junior highs, and then attend high school in the same town at the only high school around. It was a crowded school. We didn't have 1 teacher for every 10 students. Our classrooms had 35 kids in them. When I got home my parents weren't always there. I did chores (with no allowance). I didn't need an after school program to keep me out of trouble. I turned out ok. I hold down a real job in the real world. I work with many younger people who just don't get it. They have no work ethic. So what did all that extra money pay for?

Mike do you deep throat horses or something? What is the matter with you? Of course schools needed money back then. School operate by state funds and if you want things like new books and materials do you think they just appear out of the sky? No, you need money for that. And in this day with computers and other tech you need more money. C'mon Mike, you may be the stupidest person in your neighborhood but you don't have to be the stupidest in the world. It might be more effective if you learned how to spell TOILET. I see the Chicago schools aren't doing much.
