A mad man will find a way to kill regardless. The question is with more strict gun laws will we be able to defend ourselves and our families or will we just be sitting ducks.

New gun laws will not stop nut cases from killing, more attention to mental health might .

Politicians are in their office to pass laws whether they do any good or not, that is their job to dream up laws to restrict law obiding people...crooks, derug dealers and dirtbags do not pay any attention to laws, that is why they are called law breakers.

New gun laws aren't going to solve a thing. A person who wants to shoot someone will find a way to do it regardless of the law. Hence, the mass violence that takes place all over the globe.

The only thing a new gun law will accomplish is making the black-market for automatics an even more profitable opportunity for organized crime.

Our elected officials are loving the opportunity to distract voters from what matters right now. The economic crises. Quit bleating like sheep and pay attention.

What! But if it is against the law, WHY do people do it.
NOT because the gun made them do it, so there must be another reason.

New gun laws might work if we lived in a perfect world where all people obey those laws, but we do not.
By making the ownership of all guns illegal, we will be making guns more expensive, and creating a black market for guns then more people will think they need a gun.
Remember when the stupid politicians made whiskey illegal…how did that turn out.
They made pot illegal and that drives the price of pot up and every one still gets their pot.
In fact more people smoke pot just because it is illegal.

Tell a person they can not have something...they will want it even more.

Nutcase kills two firefighters in N.Y. was convicted of manslaughter in 1981 for beating his 92-year-old grandmother with a hammer, was released from prison in 1998.
Gun control nuts weren’t outraged at the monster who carried out the shootings. No, they were outraged at the NRA.
Looks like we need more prisons, not gun laws.
Nuts like these do not follow the law .

One fact seems to be overlooked and that is the fact that the people who have done the recent shootings stole the guns from law abiding people who legally had them. If a crazy person wants to do these things than they will regardless of laws. They will just get them from other criminals. By the way criminals do not obey laws so any laws made will just restrict law abiding citizens not the criminal. With the government giving guns to drug cartels in mexico, it will just be another hypocritical move by lawmakers.

The most recent shooter in NY was sent to prison for killing his GrankMother with a hammer in 1998 He then gets out and Kills two firefighters after setting his house on fire.
Why not pass a law against killing someone with a hammer, if you do then you get Death.
We need more death penalty punishment but the Liberals in this country think they can save and rehabilitate lawbreakers.

I think the death penalty should be given to all murderers, child molestors, financial criminals who commit fraud and wipe out people's life savings, as well as those who drink or get high or use cell phones and kill somebody in a car accident. NO MERCY, NO LONG DRAWN OUT APPEALS. Execute. They don't play around with criminals in other parts of the world. Why do we do it here?

In awnser to "Get the Needle Ready" the reason we do not use the death penalty here is because of the Liberals who think that it is cruel and inhumane to kill a prisoner when he can be rehabilitated. Me I agree with you, a life for a life. Just like the Bible says an eye for an eye. I feel that if the wacko nut job that killed his mother with a hammer had been executed for it, the 2 N.Y.firefighters would still be alive today. So yeah I blame the Liberals and the do-gooders and the Goverment for their deaths, and the overcrowding in prisons as well.

If you killed someone you should go to jail, have a fair & impartial & timely trial. If found guilty. you should have the right to 1 appeal. After which, if you are found guilty still, you should be taken to a prison where you are incarcerated in a private cell, fed a good meal (their last meal), given a hangman's rope, and the door locked and you are forgotten about for a couple days or so. No one bloody's their hands by killing anyone, let the prisoner do it themselves.
That is my opinion of how the death penalty should be carried out, hang yourself, or starve to death.
Security in Schools

Schools need armed security officers in every school. The state has placed them in federal offices as you walk in the door such as the Social Security Office in Sikeston and other State and Federal Buildings so why not protect our children?? I don't feel this is a teachers responsibilty to learn how use them and have them in class rooms. I don't think this is the answer. I do think all doors to shcool should be locked and only 1 way in with a armed aecurity gurad at that door way. Also put up metatal dectors at doors as each child passes through the doors. We need more secure schools. I agree people will get the guns if they have planned a mass murder..some how some way to carry out a destructive mission. My heart goes out to the families and the innocent Children that were Killed in the Sandy Brook murders and the brave teachers that tried to protect them, but should we make teachers be armed?? I don't know the answer but the solution lies within the hands of those that do. It is the responsiblity of the public to take over this matter if it is not addressed properly by our government system.
