U.S. troops brutally executed Iraqi civilians, then covered it up

The U.S. has another WikiLeaks headache on its hands - this time a diplomatic cable suggesting American troops brutally executed Iraqi civilians.
Among the 10 dead in the March 15, 2006 incident in the Iraqi town of Ishaqi, about 80 miles northwest of Baghdad, were five children-all under five years old-and four women, according to McClatchy Newspapers.
The cable, penned by a UN special investigator probing the incident and then forwarded to the U.S. Embassy in Geneva, said the Iraqis victims were handcuffed and shot, one-by-one, in the head.
It also suggests American troops subsequently called in an air-strike to level the home where the killings took place to cover up evidence of the incident, McClatchy Newspapers reported.
