That was mean of you to suggest he move to Switzerland. That would be one helluva boring existence! How cruel; but they do have EXCELLENT choc-o-late!

We'll miss you...
Fact: Firearm misuse causes only a small number of accidental deaths in the U.S. according to the 2001, Center for Disease Control, WISQARS.
For example, compared to accidental death from firearms, you are:
· Four times more likely to burn to death or drown
· 17 times more likely to be poisoned
· 19 times more likely to fall
· And 53 times more likely to die in an automobile accident
Fact: In 2001, there were only 65 accidental gun deaths for children under age 13 and about 11 times as many children die from drowning according to the 2001, Center for Disease Control, WISQARS.
Fact: In 1993, there were 1,334 drownings according to the National Center for Health Statistics, and the National Spa and Pool Institute, and 528 firearm-related accidental deaths from ages 0-19. Firearms outnumber pools by a factor of over 30:1. Thus, the risk of
drowning in a pool is nearly 100 times higher than from a firearm-related accident for
everyone, and nearly 500 times for ages 0-5.155
Fact: The Clinton Dept of Justice report on the number of times PER YEAR that ordinary citizens used their guns for defensive purposes of protection ranged from 1.5 MILLION to up to 2.5 MILLION.

Are you a man of your word or will you keep "posting"?
I would also like to say that you obviosly have not read that survey completely or are not able to understand it. I suggest you read it again and see the problem with the 1.5 to 2.56 million statistic, and see if you can figure out why the report also makes a point of talking about children's deaths, and re-read the frightening statistics about gun safety in the home, the thing the NRA and other gun advocacy groups use to justify their existence.

Why does the link you posted admit that that survey and others like it believe the numbers of people who used firearms to defend themselves is overestimated?
Overestimated? It says that no one knows for sure for various reasons, but it ALSO says that 1.5 million is a reasonable number.

But let's say it is "overestimated" by a factor of TEN... that STILL leaves 150,000 defensive gun uses a year, which is FAR more than the number of accidental deaths with a gun by ANYONE'S estimation.

I am also talking about gun related deaths.
Liar. YOU posted the word very clearly: ACCIDENT.

Now that I proved that you were as wrong as can be you want to go back and do it over again.

You really want to be known as a lying welcher? It's up to you.
SuperChargerHeaven wrote:
Not to mention you have no statistics that are less than 7 years old and 15 years old in some cases. Got any relevant data or will you keep shuffling the same b.s.?
You have evidence to show that the rates have skyrocketed in the past few years? Let's see it.

YOU posted that you would shut up. You are not a man of your word. Again, to put it bluntly, you are a lying welcher. But then again, you are a gun bigot so I suppose that I just am being redundant.

Burton, you rock!
It's hard to use satire with the gun bigot crowd because no matter how far out in wacko-land you go with the satire there's always some gun bigot that thinks you're posting great ideas.

I've read the report many times, but YOU can't get around the FACT that the Clinton DOJ issued a report that gave credible evidence to the idea that there are certainly multiple hundreds of thousands of defensive gun uses EVERY YEAR, which FAR, FAR outnumber the "accidents" each year.

YOU claimed that you would go away. I proved EXACTLY what you asked to be proved... and now you want to welch and lie about it.

It's on YOUR head son. Everyone now knows just what your word means.

It is great for visitors.
Yeah if you can afford living there, actually. I was kidding, only been there once years ago, and it is boring for young people in general unless they are wealthy enough to enjoy the jet set life. That was years ago, but they still have a high suicide rate and drug use among teens.

It never ceases to amaze me the amount of ignorant, classes, pieces of garbage who delight in the loss of life. Yeah, he terrorized an old lady, yeah he was a criminal. How many other "terrible" crimes go on and produce a more lenient sentence than death? Where is the line? Someone tell me where do we say this crime is not serious enough to kill. Theft? Things can be replaced. Battery? Wounds heal. What about drinikng and driving? That kills whole families. So does just drinking. What about speeding? Same thing. I give no free pass to criminals, but at the same time this mindless aceptance of violence, especially gun violence, to solve crime, is a vicious circle. Is it better to have a gun and use it only to mistake your family member for a criminal? Sure seems easier than mistaking them for a turkey, which has been twice in the past week. Or shall we find a different way, like getting watchdogs, hiring a security person, or, like this woman, maybe have more than one person around in case of trouble. Anyone who gloats about a person dying is not christian, a good person, or intelligent.
you deserve to be shot too before you spawn kids with your stupid intellect or rather you lack thereof.
