There's not much to the little scenic town of Ellsinore. Located in the Mark Twain National Forest in southern Missouri, it has one bank, a public park and a half dozen or so churches. via Batesville Daily Guard

I definitely agree...all towns are the same in that a town is what the residents make it. If you don't like it, either get out or get involved and do something to change it.

When you think your life sucks and things aren't fair, turn on the Discovery channel, get on the internet and look up life in Iraq, Indonesia, or even the intercity of New York or Chicago. When life gives you lemons, make lemonade!!! Maybe you have had a rough year, but be thankful you have HAD that year with your child. It's interesting what we each think makes a town good or bad..

We retired to Missouri because California has turned into a very violent state..Its infrastructure is close to dead..The cost of living is way high..

We moved to a small Missouri town to retire...(the post thing will say Ill. but thats cuz we have a satellite ISP)

We love how the people are friendly, the prices are fair, the roads comfortable to drive on, etc etc etc..All the things which California had when we grew up..

Of course every town has its problems..Our town has a corrupt leader problem and there are a lot of drug problems, according to many citizens..
There are people in this town who say its a horrid town too..
I always suggest a month trip to California...lol..

I know and understand what you guys are saying about the people complaining about Ellsinore, but compared to other small towns I've lived in and around, it really does suck! Off and on I grew up in Ellsniore and to date still have a lot of family living there, but I will never, and I do mean never, live there again. There is a huge secrete drug problem in that town that is too often swept under the rug and no one really deals with it. I mean its an in their face drug problem that never gets delt with. Besides that, having gone to school there of and on, it's the worst school I've ever been too and I've been to a lot of schools. If you were not born and raised in Ellsniore then don't bother trying to make any friends because they are snobby as hell and don't like out siders. The area is pretty and if it were not for the people I would love that town.
