Just so you know, Windstream has no intentions on fixing the slow speed internet issue. Wayne county is just to small of an area for us to fix this issue because the equipment needed is just way to expensive and not worth the money for Wayne county. We are sorry about this.

It still will be slow, we need a class action law suit, they are charging for high speed internet and not giving it.

i get every bit <-- of my 28.8kbit from this slow as windstream connection. I blaze trees before I use the net tho, so my brain slows to the same speed.

Looks like they've been installing fiber-optic cable on 67 between G'ville and Silva in the past week. Maybe something's in the works?

Not for us, these companies do not care about small towns, there is not enough money in it for them to upgrade their services

Our lines are so bad here, trees across them, jumpers put between lines that are broken, they don't even offer us high speed internet. I'm on dial up and its super super slow even for dial up because of bad lines. I hope they do something soon.

Windstream is by far the worst internet i've ever used. its garbage it lags all the time and suppossedly there is nothing we can do about it but i say the next time u see a windstream guy u kick them in the d!!k for the bullshit service they provide lol..... they r lucky i cant get something else i would switch in a heartbeat. this town is so monopolized its a joke....

Talking to the crew from Excel Utility, they tell me that the fiber optic cable being laid down 67 is a Verizon thing.

Let's face it, Windstream does not care and will not care. All they care about is the money and getting every bit from us. They know there is a sucker born every day and that is just the way it is. When you only have one service that is available, then you have to kiss their butts and deal with it and nothing can or will ever be done about it!!!!!

I live in rural Georgia. We just moved here and they promised me the 3, and I am getting landline speed. I called tech support for 2 weeks and finally got a supervisor who told me the truth. The truth is this: they are selling services they do not have in hopes people won't squawk too much before they get to the upgrades, which could be years down the road. I say class action suit. They should not be able to get away with that.

My service is so slow I can't even get TiVo to connect, and I have to take my iPad off the house wifi to use it because it works off Verizon. That is the only way to watch a a movie. Very sad. Also sad that we don't have Verizon in this area.

I was just reading an article in the paper how Windstream got a huge grant to provide fast internet connection service to Piedmont . You might want to read the paper before filing a suit .

I am paying for 12mbps in blairsville, ga. I am receiving on average 300-500k dowload speed. This has been going on for 4 months now. I have called to report the trouble several times and have received nothing but a runaround from clerks, techs, and management at broadband support. I have worked in the telecom industry for 31 years and have never seen a company like windstream with their lack of customer service and apathy towards fixing customer issues. They continually tell me I am in a latency upgrade area and there is nothing they can do. If that is so, why did they sell me a 12mbps speed when they knew they could not provide it. This is nothing but pure deception...worst isp I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with and worst customer service I have ever had from any telecom company.

You will NEVER get what you paid for. They will tell you anything to get you to stay with them! This slow internet issue is everywhere and they will NOT upgrade! find another provider and tell them to kiss your butt. You and everyone else is getting ripped off

Windstream is the worst I have seen too. Our problem is they have no compatition. Please is theresome company any company that will come to Piedmont and the surounding area please run Windstream out of town on a rail, tared and feathered.

Just tell windstream you are going to cancel...I get phone and i-net (for what its worth) for nothing...I will NEVER pay them for internet again, ever....

Since October of 2010 this forum has complained about Windstream services and the Attorney Generals office has less than 1/2 dozen complaints! There are more complaints on this forum in one day sometimes than in the right spot!!!

Here is an excerpt from OUR newspaper;
If you are or have been a Windstream customer and are unhappy with their product and/or service, you are strongly encouraged to take a few minutes and fill out the Attorney General’s complaint form even if you have already filled one out in the past. The complaint form can be completed online at www.consumer.ago.mo.gov/ . A link to the form can be found on the Wayne County Journal-Banner’s website; it takes only a few minutes to complete, Fitzwater said.
