It would be a shame to lose this historic house. As a descendant of Severn and his father, the Pirate Marmaduke Mister, I hope it can be saved and restored.

The state has started some work on the property. I would suggest that you contact Maryland State Sentor Horman Conway in Annapois MD to express your support.

Ms. Hays,
I own an historical house in Princess Anne and own a small cottage on Deal Island as well. I have noticed the Severn Mister house needs work and should be restored if at all possible. I would be willing to do what I can to continue a dialogue with the DNR and the Somerset County Historical Trust to see what we can do to save this house. Apparently the DNR and the Trust are waiting to see if locals are interested in putting their heads together to come up with ideas. Please contact me by email if you know of other persons on Deal Island who are interested in putting our heads together to see what we can do.

I am Craig E. Webster craigewebster@gmail.com I got DNR to do some stablization work at a cost of $25,000 so far. I know the house needs to be saved. Secretary John Griffin and Delagate Norm Conway are behind this project 100%

The Project is at a standstill. DNR has put any more funds in it and does not know what to do with the oldest house...on Deal Island. The state should not have bought it then

The state should consider selling it to the Somerset County Historical Trust, the Somerset County Historical Societ, or perhaps Somerset County itself. One of these organizations could work to get grants and donations to restore the house.

The Department of Natural Resources has boarded up the house. How would the citizens of Princess Anne like it if its oldest house had boards over the windows...

THE SEVERN MISTER HOUSE OR THE OTHER NAME FOR IT THE BRADSHAW HOUSE IS STILL BOARDED UP. The Department of Natural Resources should have not bought the oldest house on Deal Island,if they were not going to restore it.

THE SEVERN MISTER HOUSE HAS BEEN FORGOTTEN BY DNR..THEY SHOULD HAVE NOT BOUGHT IT. IT IS THE OLDEST HOUSE OF DEAL ISLAND AND IN A NATIONAL REGISTER HISTORIC DISTRIC. COME ON SOMERSET COUNTY HISTORIC TRUST, MARYLAND HISTORIC TRUST,BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS,DNR...IF IT WAS PEMBERTON HALL,TEAGLE MANSION, OR SOME OTHER HISTORIC HOUSE..THIS WOULD NOT HAVE HAPPEN. THE PEOPLE OF DEAL ISLAND MARYLAND DESERVE BETTER..

Daily Horoscope for December 15

Taurus

Are you in listening mode today? Let's hope so because someone wants to bend your ear and they're hoping that you can spare the time and energy for them. Although your first instincts may tell you to give them plenty of advice, try to stop yourself volunteering it unless it's asked for. Even then, you may get the sense that you're really being asked to listen, not talk.
