Re: Lisa Virgoe’s(Lucas, TX) Commentary: Well said and necessary, too. Ms. Virgoe effectively illustrates the sheer effortlessness with which one can irrevocably shatter the life of another human being, all without leaving home.

Unfortunately, the platform to do so isn’t limited to FaceBook, text messaging and e-mail.
The shattering (or attempted thereof) of someone's life is seen countless times a day on countless blog forums.

Ms. Virgoe isn't saying one shouldn't have opinions or the freedom to express them. Nor is she saying one shouldn't speak out about that which he/she fervently believes. Perhaps assuming critical thinking on behalf of the reader, what Ms. Virgoe doesn’t say is that there is a difference between the two.

To voice an opinion about an issue meaningful to oneself; particularly if he/she genuinely believes variables involved in that issue have (or could) cause harm to someone else is one thing.

But unremitting, merciless efforts to publicly extinguish every shred of dignity of another human being is not “voicing an opinion or expressing freedom of speech.” It's a calculated murder of the soul.

Sometimes, to the chagrin of those I love, I write. And I write and write and write. For years, I've written under a host of pseudonyms in a variety of mediums for reasons irrelevant here.

Even so, I realize many on these threads know my identity. But sometimes, it cannot matter whether my identity is known or not. Among those are when I believe with all my heart someone has been senselessly hurt/and or abused.

It's then that one must decide whether to step out on a limb, or play it safe for the sake of self-preservation.

Case in point is MPD Capt. Ron Jones, whose name has been maligned both in a news printing and in a privately owned web site, the latter viewed over 4,000 people in the community he works and lives.

However, simultaneous to the belief that Capt. Jones was senselessly hurt is the belief that the owner of the web site meant no harm, and in fact, had every intention of making changes upon it being brought to her attention.

For the record, just because a newspaper prints an article, does NOT mean its true. NOR does it mean the story is accurate.

Unbeknownst to the reading public, failure to retract a news story can mean the maligned party took the high road as is the case with Capt. Ron Jones, who was simply gracious enough to let it pass. Failure to retract a story could also mean the reporter made an honest mistake in failing to fully substantiate the allegations and editors decided it was in the best interest of the maligned party to let the story die a natural death. It’s also possible that unbeknownst to the public, a reporter might privately make amends with the offended party. The point is, just because a newspaper printed it, doesn’t mean it’s true.

Worth noting too, the article referencing Capt Ron Jones was inordinately brief. It was never fully developed. Nor did it grow legs. An experienced writer would suspect there was more to the story assuming the reporter was smart enough to back off. Understandably, unless one has written for a newspaper, magazine, etc. he/she may not notice such subtleties. I don’t know. But I do know that while the story was quickly dropped, the web site referencing both his name and a link to the article rendered Capt. Ron Jones the subject of false accusations on a permanent basis on a 24/7.

His only option for vindication was a retaliatory response on a publicly held blog, or…litigation for slander. Notice, Capt. Jones did neither. He quietly suffered what would have been bone crushing humiliation and gut wrenching embarrassment to anyone else.

Trust were MPD to allow publication of the real facts, I’d be first in line to write the story. But they won’t so I can’t.

However I have every reason to believe the owner of the web site is in the process of making changes. Until then, I did what any independent, free spirited dilettante would do: I stepped out on a limb, knowing when I fall, it will have been for a good reason: Capt. Jones and MPD as a whole deserve better.

Chin up MPD Captain Ron Jones. Remember: to share in Christ’s glory is to share in His suffering. Or something like that.

To her credit and with no prompting one what so ever , the website owner went beyond merely making changes to MPDSWAT.com . She altogether removed it. In fact, she had it removed before midnight last night.

In her own words,“As much as I want Billy's story to be known and understood, it was never our intention to hurt another innocent person… Another day lived, another lesson learned.”

No victory here. Just abundant appreciation and respect for a human being, who like everyone else, is doing the best she can to navigate this thing called “life.”

To err is human; to forgive is divine.

McKinney officer accused of sexual harassment crossed line, report says
Police chief suspended him 5 days; he denies allegations

The joke came during a gathering of the command staff at the McKinney Police Department. The head of the patrol division, Capt. Ron Jones, pulled out his wallet and offered a female police employee $100 to perform a pole dance on a flagpole.

She batted a comment back at him to play along, not wanting to look like a prude. Later, she said she felt embarrassed.

Philip Harless, the city's human resource director, investigated the "pole" joke and other similar incidents involving Capt. Jones. Ultimately, Mr. Harless recommended that he be demoted or suspended at least 10 days

The city's police chief, Doug Kowalski, disagreed. He let the captain keep his rank and suspended him without pay for five days.

P.S. I've met the officer in question years ago, and he seemed like a stand up guy to me. Nevertheless, the truth is the truth. It is regrettable that he made such a faux pas, but the fact appears to be, he clearly did.

and you'll come up with at least ten different news articles reporting the same thing. To include statements made by Meridith Ladd, the city's lawyer and legal spokesperson, which confirm his suspension and the reason for it.

Holly, if you are going to talk about murder, try not murdering the truth.

While we are on the subject of “Murdering Souls”. Explain how this kid, lying on the ground after a suspicious 30 foot fall was tasered up to 19 times. According to police “story”,“He refused to comply with the officers and so the officers had to deploy their Tasers in order to subdue him.”

Of course their “explanation” ignores the fact that the kid had fallen 30 feet, was prone on the ground and had a broken neck among other life threatening injuries.

Guess in addition to his life being nearly snuffed out, his “soul” was too. The “officers” sure must have been in horrible fear for their lives………..

Parents question why Ozark police used stun gun on injured son

OZARK, Mo.-- A family wants answers about what happened to their son that left him hospitalized. Early Saturday morning, police found Mace Hutchinson, 16, underneath the Highway F overpass over U.S. 65.

Mace ended up in intensive care at a hospital. His parents believe the actions of Ozark police officers contributed to his injuries and slowed doctors’ abilities to speed his recovery.

By the time officers arrived, the teen was off the 30-foot overpass, lying on the shoulder below along U.S. 65, with no good explanation as to how he got there.

“According to the doctors, all injuries are consistent with a fall,” said his aunt, Samantha.
Mace's dad believes it was just that, a fall, not a jump. The question is why.

“They tested his system. He was clean of drugs and alcohol. We don't know why unless just being in shock and the whole thing in itself caused him to forget everything,” said Hutchinson.

His aunt says he is undergoing major surgery for a broken back and broken heel. While he was lying on the ground, she wonders why Ozark police used an electric stun gun on him up to 19 times.

“I'm not an officer, but i don't see the reason for ‘Tasering’ somebody laying there with a broken back. I don't consider that a threat,”
His dad says the use of the stun gun delayed what would have been immediate surgery by two days.

“The ‘Tasering’ increased his white blood cell count and caused him to have a temperature so they could not go into the operation.”

“He refused to comply with the officers and so the officers had to deploy their Tasers in order to subdue him. He is making incoherent statements; he's also making statements such as,‘Shoot cops, kill cops,’ things like that. So there was cause for concern to the officers,” said Ozark Police Capt. Thomas Rousset.

Police say although there are several unanswered questions; the reason for the use of a stun gun is not one of them.

“It's a big concern for the officers to keep this guy out of traffic, to keep him from getting hurt,” said Rousset.{so we tasered the living

Mace was still in intensive care on Wednesday night, listed in fair condition. He was scheduled for surgery again on Thursday.“

While you're making threats against people expressing their opinions based on reported facts by numerous credible sources, thought you could opine on this "murdered soul":

Richard Brown.

After a tip from an informant stating that he was selling drugs from his home, a Miami SWAT team bursts into the home of 73-year-old retired salesman Richard Brown, and immediately begins firing.

By the end of the raid, they'd pumped 123 rounds into Brown and his apartment, killing him at the scene. Brown's 14-year-old great-granddaughter was also home at the time of the raid, and cowered in the bathroom during the gunfire.

Police found no drugs in Brown's home.

The city of Miami would later pay a $2.5 million settlement to Brown's estate after officers on the raiding SWAT team were indicted for lying about the details of the raid.

Former Miami Internal Affairs supervisor and 25-year police veteran John Dalton, now retired, told the Miami Herald that the Internal Affairs supervisor at the time of the raid, William O'Brien, discouraged a thorough investigation of the Brown case.

"They were very defensive about this shooting from the beginning," Dalton said, adding that he'd been "chewed out" by O'Brien for asking difficult questions.

But surely the fact that a man was killed, four swat cops convicted, cops lied, lawyers made public statements confirming what happened and millions paid out really means the real story is being hidden by the PD doesn't it?

After all, the newspapers covered it, the cops were punished. But surely this department can't tell us the true story of how none of this actually happened and the cops are really innocent, huh lady? So let's threaten the people who reported on it with lawsuits because you can't handle the truth.

“McKinney police Capt. Ron Jones, head of the patrol division, served a five-day suspension, ending May 4, for violations regarding professional conduct and sexual harassment, the department’s attorney (Meredith Ladd) said.

Jones, who has been with the department since 1996, was cited for four (4, count 'em FOUR)incidents by an internal investigation.

Attorney Meredith Ladd would not give specifics of the incidents, only saying that they were all internal violations within the department and did not involve citizens.”

A McKinney police officer accused of indecency with a child allegedly had sex in his patrol car with a 38-year-old woman while her 12-year-old daughter stood nearby, according to court records.

Ian Hasselman, 28, was arrested Monday on the indecency charge. He was released from the Collin County Jail a few hours later after posting $10,000 bail. He was unavailable to comment on Tuesday.

Indecency with a child is considered a second- or third-degree felony.

According to state law, the charge can be applied to those suspected of engaging in sexual contact with a child or those suspected of exposing themselves knowing that a child is present.

The second example is considered a third-degree felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000.

Police began investigating Hasselman earlier this month and learned about a yearlong relationship he had with the girl's mother, according to an arrest warrant affidavit that was released Tuesday by Charles Sandoval, a Collin County judge.

McKinney police officials were unavailable to comment Tuesday. On Monday they said Hasselman no longer worked for the department.(Because when he faced and pled guilty to the charges he was "allowed to resign" - not fired).

So tell us ma'am, is this another example of a fine innocent MPD officer who has "suffered what would have been bone crushing humiliation and gut wrenching embarrassment to anyone else"?

It must be because you stand for the truth, right? And,this factual story was listed all over the media, it's in the MPD's own records, the city's lawyers said it was true and it was posted "on a public blog".

But since it's been posted here, there must be a "hidden story" which the MPD won't tell proving this guy is innocent, according to your logic and yours only.

Guess you'll be denying the truth and issuing another very public threat? Please Please Me and do.

ANOTHER DAY, ANOTHER DEATH

“On May 18, police in Easton, Connecticut conducted a heavily-armed drug raid on the home of Ronald Terebesi, Jr.

They began the raid by throwing flashbang (stun) grenades through Terebesi’s windows, then battering down his door and storming the house.

Friends say at the time of the raid, 33-year-old Gonzalo Guizan was visiting Terebesi to discuss the possibility of opening an employment business.

According to police, the unarmed Guizan charged the raiding swat officers, at which point they shot and killed him.

As usual, the police, prosecutors, and state investigators are hunkering down,

But some information is tricking out. Here’s what we know:

• Police found no guns in the home, but did find some cocaine and the two pipes, and have charged Trebesi with possession, which means there wasn’t enough to trigger an automatic charge of distribution.

So we have a heavily-armed, paramilitary-style raid conducted based on a tip from a stripper of drug use, not distribution. In the process, a slight, unarmed man runs toward the raiding police officers, and is shot dead.

I think it’s safe to say that Guizan likely had no idea the intruders were police.[Who in their right mind would knowingly charge into an army with automatic weapons and throwing grenades?]

We’re told over and over that even in no-knock raids, the police announce themselves as they’re coming into the home, and that everyone inside ought to know they’re being raided by cops, not criminal intruders.

But if that’s the case, why deploy flash grenades just before making entry? They’re designed to disorient and confuse. That’s the whole reason for using them.

You can’t at the same time say it’s necessary to disorient and confuse people, but that they also should hear, recognize, process, and believe the police announcement you make at the same time you’re deploying the concussion grenades.

The raid was done within hours of the tip from the stripper, so it’s unlikely the police did much surveillance or attempted a controlled drug by from Trebesi.

The police will argue the officer who shot Guizan was reacting to a volatile situation.

That’s all probably true, though it doesn’t account for the fact that the police created those volatile circumstances in the first place.

It also doesn’t account for the fact that had Guizan been the one who misjudged the threat and shot and killed one of the raiding officers, he’d almost certainly be in Ryan Frederick’s shoes right now.

Guizan’s parents—who lost their only other son in a car accident—are considering a lawsuit.”

1. You mean like voicing opinions and linking to published sources from the public domain on the dangerous use of paramilitary civilian police forces? Showing examples of innocent peoples lives ruined, if not snuffed out due to poor, negligent and even criminal police behaviour?

2. Such as whom? Ron Jones, a guy actually liked in person? Who “mercilessly” brought him up on this thread? It was you. Who seems to have lied about the truth? It was you, as shown by numerous credible, published and public sources, to include not only the city’s attorney but the departments own records. Telling the truth is not murder “Holly”, but it is “voicing an opinion or expressing freedom of speech”.

You know, exactly as you used to do. And don’t think for a moment that every single one of your comments railing against bad, specifically named police and their behaviour (which mysteriously and very, very cozily have been deleted) are not cached, and backed up on disc (multiple copies, multiple places). Just like the vile threats made by certain of our “finest”.

If you have something that shows all these sources are wrong, then you’re hereby publically challenged to document it. No excuses, document it. Otherwise you continue to have no credibility. After all, no one wants an innocent person punished in any way, least of all you, right? In fact “Holly”, if you have such information and are withholding it, are not you guilty of a crime both morally and legally? You are.

So either you are a self confessed “murderer of the soul”, or you’re a hypocrite who cares nothing about the damage and ruined lives caused by rogues hiding behind badges in our midst. Or both. And “relationships” seem to have a higher priority in your book than does truth and concern for the well being of our community.

Don’t be casting stones “Holly” when you’ve been captured on DVD disc throwing them yourself, big time. And it is truly amazing what has been captured on DVD (multiple copies, multiple places); should make international news. Just like the Cheerleader Scandal – except much worse.
