Perhaps the city of Dayton will take careful note of Sidney's technique and begin taking action upon the dealings of hard narcotics right in front of their own police stations!

Thumbs up for Shelby County! I just wish Xenia could get out of our neighborhoods. The gangs are forming, and it's not safe anymore for our own children to walk 5 blocks from the school without having to pass the teenagers on the corners smoking pot, and cursing, when will it stop?

This news is wonderful. Monday, the 7th will be one year since I lost my son to methadone overdose...he had the equivalent of one pill in his system. Unfortunately when he passed away, he also took the secret of who provided this very lethal drug to him. He was not a practicing "addict", had he been he most likely would have not died. It has been researched that those who are optiate tolerant(either by legal means or otherwise daily users) do succumb to the drug...it suppresses breathing to a lethal degree and has been the cause of countless deaths both by prescription and diversion.
I pray that whomever provided this drug to him, was one of the many busted!! I have prayed for justice, a life for a life, for the past 11 months. KARMA!! Has anyone here lost a loved one to prescription or drugs of any kind? I would love to talk to someone who can relate. FYI~ please leave negative comments out of this topic concerning my post. My son was a loving father, a husband, a brother and worked for a living. By no means was he a "junkie" but at the time of his death was treated as such by the Sidney PD. All I have ever wanted was answers but his case was closed after autopsy ruling. No one will or can convince me that his death was anything other than murder. Someone provided the drug and it caused his death, his blood is forever on their hands. Have a good day all;) |

I did not see an 'edit' button, therefore please let me correct the above in saying that :opiate tolerant people do NOT succumb to the drug.

How do you think the Sidney Police didn't do their jobs? Was the death ruled a overdose by the autopsy? If so, how did Sidney Police not do their jobs. Your son would be the only person to tell them who provided him the drug which killed him. And I am sure your son took the drug voluntarily...I am very sorry for your loss, I truly am, but are you not placing the blame on someone when it is not their fault the incident occurred???

After having a year to rationalize all of the 'what ifs', no I do not blame anyone for the death of my son other than the provider (through diversion) and my son himself. However, at the time of his death, his wife was questioned and when she was asked if he regularly used, she answered yes, which did in turn label him as an addict to the authorities. She neglected to mention that to HER "regular use" was every 3-6 months, not a daily basis. There were many leads as to who was possibly a contact for they had all the cell numbers he phoned and who had phoned him during the hours leading up to his death. He was NEVER known to take this drug in the past. He did not die at home. I am only frustrated that I was never contacted concerning the situation as I am his mother. I sent letters to the detective in charge of the 'case' stating that he please phone or write me if I were allowed access to the police reports, emt reports, etc...only to hear nothing. I feel that had my son had "status" of any kind and not just another working father/husband that his case would have been handled much differently. Naturally I would like to see who sold/gave the methadone to him be held accountable--it caused his death for heaven's sake!! Upon reading this recent article concerning the drug busts, I am praying that the person/persons possibly responsible are included in the raid. Neglecting to acknowledge that I am and have been a grieving mother and having them not even give me a call back out of common courtesy is what I am upset about, not that I did not think they did not do their job! Yes, cause of death was ruled 'accidental overdose' by the coroner.
Thank you for your reply. I hope my writing made sense;) |

It did make perfect sense. To reach out a little bit and try to help you...In case you were not aware all reports made by Law Enforcement are available for public view unless it is a "pending" investigation. If you go to the department that investigated the death, they will provide you with a copy of the report filed on the incidence.Anything else you need to know, I will try to answer....
