Could be true that pits are no more meaner than a beagle, but the bite of a pit is so much worse. I've been attacked by one that was raised in a good home. It latched on my leg and shook and did a lot of damage, if I was a child I may not have been as lucky.

i own alot of pitbulls and dont give a s===t what people say its not the breed its the dog no matter what breed it is if you treat a dog like shit after awhile it will do the same back its not a pitt thing its a any dog thing. the only reason you hear about them more is because dum a++ people out there running them up a bad name, if i fought golden retriviers for a lond period after awhile they would be worthless dogs as well

Pits, Rotts, Shepards, etc. Its all in the raising. Any dog can be dangerous. If people would respect the animal and not make them feel like people are a threat they wouldn't be harmed and for pete's sake if you don't know the animal dont approach it. Looking into an animals eyes at a dead stare makes them think its a challenge. Keep your kids in your own yard. Most animal attacks are caused by stupid people letting their kids roam the neighborhood getting into peoples yards and want to have the dog put down because the kid gets bit. All the dog is doing is protecting its property. I get really aggrivated when people bash any breed. Most attacks are caused by humans. Its a fact!!!

So... Do you think you have the right to dig a pit in your yard and line it with sharpened spikes? Do you think you can leave a loaded gun laying around? If a pit or any other dog attacks my kids its dead and so is the owner. I don't care where it happens.

You must not have any kids. If you did them you would know they have an element of unpredictability about them. That is their nature. Just like dogs. Unlike dogs you can not tie children up or stick them in a cage. When you actually have children you quickly learn that they are smart and if you are not careful they will find ways around safety measures put in place to protect them. This is why people with pools are required to put a fence around them, and even that it not enough sometimes. The main problem here is our socity is finding it more and more acceptable to treat animals better than humans. This leads to the screwed up thinking in many peoples screwed up minds that animals are to be valued more than other people. This is where the conflict starts.

And yes I do have kids... one of which was attacked by a Germand Shepard in someones yard while we were visiting these people and I assure you ... If I would have known, we would have never been there at all....I keep my children out of these situations....They also said the dog was nice... we just have to be more alert to our surroundings just like the people we have them around....

And you also need to look at the idiots walking the steets anymore... I use to walk all the time... Now I am scared to because of the way people have became... people killing everyone ... robbing... it is terrible...My dog is the least of my worrys anymore...

And I'm freak'n telling you...Reader...there is no way in hell I would ever let a pitbull around my family. It's just not going to happen. I've read far too many behavioral studies, statistics, and the like to ever let one get near my family. I'm glad you don't think yours is mean; good for you.

Ford Pintos are piles for cars, but every once in a while, you find someone that thinks they are a fantastic car. However, there is no way in hell I'm buying one.
