Didn't Michael Bigler work for Blago? Has anyone wondered what his work history is? His qualifications? Surely you don't elect someone to a position such as a state senator because your father was a retired judge? Your brother was a partial term states attorney.(quit) I'll take the career politician who runs on his own merits, accomplishments and record every time. Not everyone elses. You get one who is mature. You dont hear rumors of Dave getting thrown out of local businesses! School board member, quit. Anna city council? Is he going to quit that too? If he gets elected to State Senate, is he going to quit that to run for Govenor? President?

BIGLER ANNOUNCES RUN FOR 58TH SENATE SEAT
SOUTHERN ILLINOIS-- Anna City Council member Michael Bigler has announced his candidacy for State Senate in the 58th District.
Bigler plans to run a strong grassroots campaign to engage the people's participation in the voting process unlike the current status quo.“I plan to work as hard to get elected as I plan to work once in office. We need to put people to work. The current state of Illinois’ economy is unacceptable and big decisions need to be made. The trend of career politicians opposing legislation without offering alternatives is not leadership. We need a responsible proactive voice in Springfield to represent the people in Southern Illinois," said Bigler.
Bigler is the Manager of the Bureau Administrative Services at the Illinois Department of Transportation in Carbondale. He is a graduate of Anna-Jonesboro Community High School, graduate of Westminster College where he received a degree in Business Administration and now resides in Anna, Illinois with his wife, Dori. The son of retired Union County Judge D.D. Bigler, Michael will be running as a Democrat against Republican incumbent State Senator David Luechtefeld.
“I’ve served my community at the local level and have seen first hand what isn’t working with our state and I think it is time to dedicate myself to public service at the state level. We need to focus on improving public education, higher education, protecting the rights of our veterans, workers rights, access to basic healthcare, and consumer protections,” said Bigler. "I also believe that state government should begin by tightening its belt in Springfield. We shouldn't be balancing the budget on the backs of front line workers and retirees and by closing facilities," Bigler added.
Bigler believes major fixes need to be implemented to save the state’s future for generations to come. Infrastructure investments, job creation, education reform, increasing tourism, and bringing our economy back are all top priorities for the Bigler.“I ask for your support and vote in November. When elected, I will serve you and the people of the 58th district, I will always vote with Southern Illinois in mind,” said Bigler.
District 58 comprises of Jefferson, Perry, Washington, Randolph, Jackson, Union, Monroe, and St. Claire Counties. District 58’s constituencies include Mt. Vernon, Carbondale, Murphysboro, Anna, and St. Louis Metro East communities and municipalities.

Four questions:

1. Why is Indiana solvent and…Illinois bankrupt?
2. Why is Illinois closing state facilities…and Indiana is not?
3. Why are AFSCME members being fired in Illinois, but not Indiana?
4. How is it that Indiana’s AFSCME members are earning good pay and have guaranteed retirement packages, while Illinois’ public-union workers were screwed out of $83 BILLION?

Two answers:

1. Indiana voters are smarter than we and would not ever support the grotesqueness of anything resembling a Democrat/Chicago Machine. We, on the hand, keep re-electing the same scum buckets over-and-over-and-over-again.
2. In Indiana AFSCME bosses and the Indiana Legislature are not allowed to share the same bed. Unlike our corrupt state, Indiana (and now Wisconsin) are following FDR’s sage advice that a legislature cannot sit on both sides of a union/management negotiating table.
