Does anyone know what is going on at Kroger? I have shopped there two times in the last two weeks. Both times, I have bought food that was out-of-date, but still on the shelves. Today, I bought some meat that was moldy when I turned it over.

Idk but that's been that way for a while I wont buy strawberries there either cause they are always moldy, I found a piece of wood in a donut that I got from there and just a few weeks ago I had a small metal washer in my potatoes and almost swallowed it, I know the potato thing wasn't their fault but the donut thing a different story.

I am going to, I placed the meat in the freezer, so he can see the mold for himself. It is a shame, because I have always liked Kroger, but I may have to start shopping at the one in Carbondale.

FYI, the donuts are not made from scratch at the store. They get shipped in frozen but are baked & frosted there! As far as the out of date & moldy stuff goes, sounds like several employees are not doing their jobs correctly!

Now matter where you buy strawberries they are going to mold very quickly. Unless it's spring. If people are rude to you, maybe you are bringing it in yourself. Shopped there FOR years never had a rude worker. Ever. Even when going over and needed to put things back. And that's just embarrassing. Never a rolled eye. I would say check the dates, its not that hard to do. Which I find hard to believe, things that run close to being out of date, they put in manager special, to try to move it, instead of waste it. I think we all know food is ok to eat even a bit longer than the date says. Stinks? I assume you are not referring to odor. It does not smell. If you don't like it go somewhere else. Save a lot does not help bag and get you out (I get that is in part in getting cheaper prices) and Wal-Mart most certainly will not offer to help you to your car.
