I just got a call from them this morning, and I wouldn't want to work for them at all even if they are not a scam. The lady on the phone wouldn't even tell me about the company until I told her I could start immediatly and she had my age and such things as that. She was rude the whole time and lacked any kind of professionalism. And THAT is fact.

I never worked for Shy Enterprises, I never bought a Kirby. You guys lie about me and all
I did was post a topic on a forum. "has anyone worked for them? " Thats all I asked. Disgruntled people who were misled by fake job ad's make up half of this post. And if the topic keeps popping up I'm sure there will be alot more people coming foreward saying the company is JUNK!

I was just recently hired at shy enterprise. When I seen the ad on craigslist as an appointment setter that would make $800, that sounded great. On my first day there for training it was VERY weird. There meeting room is set up like a REAL CLUB! There are extra happy like they are in a actually club. I thougt like anyone that was there, that my position would be in a office or something. But after time i found out that it is door to door selling. I feel that they should be honest and not tricking you into doing some. So if you get hired, you WILL be selling Kirby vaccum cleaner. The hours are long as hell, from 9am til about 1am monday thur Saturday.. You are a loser if you spend your WHOLE DAY selling vaccum cleaner!

Ok tiana who made it through one day of training and hasn't had a job in two months. If someone makes good money they must be a loser in the eyes of the unemployed. U might want to look in the mirror dip shit!!

I am sorry for everything I have said about shy. I had friends that worked there and did well. They just wouldn't hire me after three interviews. So I am sorry for acting like a baby.

Yes, I worked for them in 2007, and I can tell you that they are very shady. First I saw one of those supposed "Carpet Cleaning" ads of theirs on Craigslist, and slowly found out it was just a door to door Kirby Vacuum job. I think the different Kirby reseller stores tend to be pretty shady in their dealings, and Shy is no exception. We would knock on people's doors and offer a free carpet cleaning of a room, and then afterwords try to sucker them into buying the 2,000 dollar vacuum.
We also didn't get a salary, instead it was all commission-based work, and if you didn't sell a vacuum you didn't get paid some weeks.
I think if you are great sales person, and are very very dishonest and don't have much of a conscience, you can do very well in this business. I left Shy Enterprises (and Kirby) because I felt it was unethical to work there.
Look at the facts...

6 friends of mine including myself worked as Kirby salesmen. Some of us made ok money in the low hundreds and some would make double or more. I myself was not very enthused about knocking door to door with a roll of paper towel or whatever we were given to use along with our college scholarship pitch just to get ourselves in their home. lol just thinking about them days makes me laugh. The stories I would hear that the fellow salesmen would pitch to the possible buyers were hilarious. I was sitting in on a demonstration to learn and the salesman told them that the transmission was designed and manufactured by Porsche. lol I was like omg you have to be kidding me. Not all sales people are as dishonest as him, he was later fired. If you are a high energy enthusiastic person you can and will go far with Kirby. You can make soooo much money and the bonuses are great too. The vacations they give are awesome. If you sell they dont mess around, you will be rewarded. The Kirby vacuum is a great machine and last a long time but they are a little expensive.
Lies ....more Lies and they stole my name and tried to Lie...

A kirby is a good vacume people just need to know about them and i have worked for a kirby company before and was suckered in by the add of a guarentee of 400-600 per week and when i got hired he told me that was just an estimate. the way a kirby dealer hires a person is very shady but not the vacume itself. I will never work for any company that has to do with kirby again becouse the only people that work there are the ones that do nothing but drink and do drugs all day long while they are in the van trying to sell kirbys. SO ALL I HAVE TO SAY IS F**K WORKING FOR ANY WHO HAS ANYTHING TO DO WITH KIRBY!!!
