Who the hell is in charge of state governments? What authority does SmokeFree and ACS have in state legislators? I thought the job of the ACS was to find a cure for cancer, not to accept and reject the laws of the land. Someone needs to step up to the plate and investigate these groups.

Right on Senator Breske!:

Breske said taverns across northern Wisconsin should be given years to comply with any smoking ban because it would force many of them to close. Bar owners need time to decide whether to comply with the smoking ban, sell their businesses or remodel their property for other uses, he said.

A former bar owner and ex-president of the Tavern League of Wisconsin, Breske called warnings about the dangers of secondhand smoke "hogwash."

Breske said he started working in a bar when he was a child, and the air in that bar was "blue" from the smoke.

"I'm still alive," Breske said. "I'm 69."

The Wisconsin do-gooder-fascist-prohibitioni st legislators should mind their own damn business and let Bar and Tavern owners and the free market choose what's best for them and their customers.

I got tied up in the senate committee, never made it to some of them wanted the Tavern League and the anti's to work something out. And as usually with them there is no compromise. For them it's all or nothing. I am fighting for nothing. I mean that in a positive way.

Get real people quit wasting peoples tax paying money and lift the stupid smoking ban on taverns.
If ya want to fight against something look at our ecomomy today it sure is not looking to good. Now with more revenue losses due to this stupid smoking ban its only going to get worse.

Those groups really get around. After stomping on the freedom of one state, they jump to another one. They don't give a flying **** about the local concerns. They just keep moving on, like the "snake oil" salesmen in the old west. Keep those tax exempt dollars coming for lobbying and political action committes (PACS)

I have a feeling their "all or nothing" may be the downfall of of this whole thing. They're waking up too many sleeping giants. Had they left bars and casinos out of this whole thing, they may have quietly gotten away with it.

It seems as though each state they encounter are increasingly resisting their efforts. Hopefully, we are all making enough rukus to wake up the politicians.
