Exactly, Danny.

As far as I am concern he should be wiped off the face of the Earth, another scum bag loser. Hopefully, he will have an early death from liver failure.

if he was a smoker people would label him bad.

but as a drunk, well the system takes waaaayyy to
long to put behind bars.

the system makes too much money off the convictions of alcoholics to swiftly put them away.
the cops have jobs.
the judge makes money.
the lawyers make money.
the drunk cries boo hoo i need my license for a job.
then they give him /her a temporary license,
and the drunk believes this is a temp license to drink and drive.
then gets caught,
they cry again.
then get fined.
then no license
then the drive anyway.

all of our insurance rates go up because of these kinds of people on the roads.

i know for a fact this happens my uncle had licenses in several states, and had dwi in every state too.
yet he would be back on the road.

He COULD have had an ignition interlock or home confinement.

INSTEAD, we the taxpayers get to shell out an extra $50,000 to keep this guy in prison for a year...$150,000 if he serves the full three.

I can see where people would be applauding that. Lord knows we aren't taxed enough in New York.
Huh

maybe we should tax the alcohol so much that it would make people want to quit!

then we would have a healthier nation.
we wouldn't have people on the road drunk at night.
we wouldn't have the morning drunks going to rite aid for their alcohol before the bars open up

we wouldn't have to pay added insurance for auto accidents with alcohol
we wouldn't have to pay for liver transplants for the drunks who couldn't or wouldn't quit.

tax the drunks, make it illegal to drink in public, like bars or restaurants, like they did to the smokers.

oh i am not a smoker either, but doesn't this make a good argument to tax !!!!
