Luke was a wonderful young man, yes this is tragic that it happened, but it could happen to anyone. How many people out there have had only one drink and gotten behind the wheel of a car? I know I have and I know many others who have. It only takes one drink to impair your judgement!! For anyone to be lecturing at this time is horrible, do you know where and what your children are doing 100% of the time? It is not the parents fault. The parents of Luke are wonderful caring people and love there children very much!!!!!

Thank god, no innocent persons were injured due to this reckless behavior.

This is the type of stuff you hear about when an innocent person or family are wiped out by reckless behavior.

Now, its tragic when someone dies because their vehicle has a mechanical failure, animal runs out in front of them, someone else causes the accident, and that person should dies, because of it, now that is tragic.

However, when someone is acting reckless due to alcohol, or dangerous driving, and dies that isn't tragic, that is self induced, and whatever happens is whatever happens. All I care about is that there were no incident people involved, because someone has to act like an idiot.

give this a rest. all you people that wrote about reckless driving and drinking being out late etc. take a long hard look at yourselves. talking or texting on the cell phone,putting make up on,drinking coffee,reading the paper and list go's. this tragic thing that happen to this family and it wasn't the greatest choice he made.Give them respect and closure to this unfortunate accident and learn from this and help others not to do the same as Luke.If this saves as least one person Luke life had meaning.

I AM LUKE'S MOM. i just googled my son's name and found this site. i am sorry i found it. the people with the judgemental comments have tainted the intended meaning of this site...i believe it was meant to be a vessel of love, not hate. thank you to those of you who expressed your love and support. to all others (especially those who live miles away in other states!) why in the world would you spend even one minute of your life on a site dedicated to a young man you didn't even know? i really don't understand. unless you have lost a child you will never understand the magnitude of our loss. words are very powerful...they have the ability to convey love when chosen carefully. they also can cut like a two edged sword when flung around carelessly. our family continues to be shattered 211 days after luke's death. please remember if you can't say something comforting, it's best kept to yourself. this is not the place to vent your opinions. no one who has commented here knows what we know, and they never will. if you care so much about certain issues there are groups and associations both locally and nationally who will entertain your concerns. finally, to those who know us and support us, please know that the Lord Jesus is holding us up and that His grace is sufficient for us. thank you for your prayers. You are across the country, How can you say anything? Luke was everything to a lot of people, This was VERY tragic. And for your information lots of other people were hurt. I may not have known Luke well.. But he doesn't deserve what you are giving him.
