I'm very sorry this happened and my prayers go out to the family. However, I am very surprised that an 18yr old still in high school was out at 2am on a Wednesday night, and may have possibly been drinking. Did he not have a curfew and was he not under any type of adult supervision? I've mentioned this more than once...Driver's education should be a high school graduation requirement and the driving age should be raised to 18. It would create more defensive, mature drivers and help prevent high school dropouts.

I'm 26 years old and obviously 8 years removed from being 18. I don't know how people in this age range can act and drive like they do. What is it going to take for the youth in this country to get a clue? You are not invincible. Your life is very precious and not something to take risks with. Clearly there was a huge lack of judgement.

The aritcle stated that he graduated from St Francis in 2007. This is not the time to preach or judge.

To the Family I am so sorry that this happened!

He graduated from high school almost a year ago, and he was 18.

It is such a sad thing to keep seeing young people lose their lives over poor judgment. I hope all of the young drivers out there get a lesson out of this tragedy as well as the recent deaths of the couple from Lancaster.

The family is in my prayers and thoughts. I am very sorry for your loss.

DRIVER education is a farce the teacher doesnt know anything about driving anymore than the student I ask you this when a car is passing you & another comes from the other way what do you do ? yea put on the breaks just like the passing car then what happens he cant get back in line because you take up the spot instead of gassing up to let him in line he has already broken momentum & has a hard time getting back in line does driver ed teach that ? no doe they teach what a red light & stop sign is ?? NO NO NO this is from a former pro driver over a 2 million mile experiance

As a former teenager, it is awful that we never understand consequences. I cannot imagine the pain, grief and loss the family feels.
Hope this story touches even 1 teenager to stop and think before making the same mistake ALMOST ALL OF US have made, but to not such dire consequences.
God Bless and remember the love and good times had with him. You have an angel on your side now.

This is very sad to say the least. A graduate or not he still was only 18 and needs adult supervision. The legal age for drinking is 21 and obviously it does not mix with driving. So, if he was drinking who supplied him with the booze. Under the laws you are responsible for the child until the age of 21. Just lucky no one else was in the car or in the path of his of his. Another senseless loss of someone with their whole future ahead of them. MADD

Unbelievable!!!! your lecturing is the last thing people need to read. I cannot stand one more parent,,,not one,,,that thinks it could not happen to thier child, because their parenting skills are so wonderful.
To the family and friends, I am so sorry for your the hole that must now be in your hearts.

Sorry...I read that incorrectly, but I still stand by opinion on the matter of young drivers not being careful or responsible enough.

Daily Horoscope for December 4

Virgo

Someone wants a favor from you, so be ready for a not-so-subtle play on your sympathy. Expect a big song and dance about not being very well, or sad complaints about all the chores, as though you don't have enough of your own to cope with. If you agree to help, do so out of the goodness of your heart rather than because you've been manipulated into it.
