RBS is not controlled by the Police Jury, I guess that accusation is a results of RBS airing as MANY Open Public Meetings as airtime allows. By the way all OPEN Public meetings are aired unedited in their entirety, and re-aired several times. Unlike some, RBS thinks folks are intelligent enough to draw their own conclusions if they have access to the ACTUAL meeting. In the past it was let ME give you my slant of what happened at the meeting. It is ironic that the slanters are now angry with RBS for providing access outside the slanter group.
Ken, is very articulate and is on the air a lot more than even he wants to be. However, when RBS sent out a request for a Play by Play announcer for football, NO ONE responded, and RBS approached Ken about doing the play by play, and he is doing an excellent job. You may not agree with Ken's position as a Police Juror, but he doesn't work behind closed doors, from every thing we have seen, even though you may not agree with him he works for what he believes is the direction the parish should be heading.
By the way we have told him he needs to work on his "WAIST"
Finally RBS is a Commercial Station and as such airs PAID advertisement for any PAC or individual that wishes to promote their view, THATS CALLED FREE PRESS". In the case of the Sales Tax issue their is a PAID Commercial running supporting the tax. This is NOT NEWS, it is a PAID advertisement. The advertisement runs with all of the standard disclaimers and RBS has gone even further, and offered equal FREE air time for an opposing view. As of this date NO INDIVIDUAL or GROUP has elected to take RBS up on the offer.
You may not like our programming, but that's why they ,make an ON and OFF switch.

RBS does not edit much out of our Police Jury Meetings only the negative portions that are not in the best interest of the Parish residents. Most of the local residents are not smart enough to understand how we really want to spend their money on projects we want. We at the Police jury knows what is best for the Parish and our pocketbooks.
