Students of the Year Recognized
At its meeting Tuesday, the West Feliciana Parish School Board recognized the school system’s Students of the Year.
Ngozi Valerie Nwabueze and Nkechi Nwabueze, daughters of Dr. and Mrs. Nnamdi Nwabueze, were named Students of the Year at the elementary and middle school levels, respectively. Ngozi Nwabueze is a fifth- grader at Bains Elementary School, and her older sister is an eighth-grader at West Feliciana Middle School.
Carolyn Shealy Mangham, daughter of Dana and Nancy Mangham, is the high school Student of the Year.
Jessica Lynn Felder, daughter of Becky Malina, is the Tunica Elementary Student of the Year.
The Board also recognized Jillian Serio, who is a finalist in the National Merit Scholarship program. Serio, a West Feliciana High School senior, is the daughter of Jaime and Penny Serio and said she plans to attend LSU’s Honors College and major in business.
