I guess in today's world anything is for sale. It's kind of funny, the whole time you are at school there they try to teach you about loyalty to your alma mater and creating ties to the university, then they change the name of the university... I guess loyalty isn't always a two-way street. Now that the university has changed names, my only ties are to my fraternity and that is where my ties will end. I hope the donation was enough to make up for the lack of donation that the school will get from numerous angry alumni. I still think they could have received more money on E-bay, maybe that is where they will look next.

I have lived in Angola for over 30 years. The name Tri-State is well past it's shelf life and was going to be changed one way or the other. It is too bad that people take an honor for someone such as this and try to ruin it. The Trines care deeply for this community and the university and it shows in their giving and service to the Angola area. You will not meet a nicer family. What they have done and will continue to do for the university is unmatched. Have you seen the campus lately? It has completely changed...new dorms, new student center, new sports facilities, with more improvements on the way. Once it is offically Trine University it will be a school that can move on grow for the future. By the way, it will do so with or without the help of those opposed.

when I learned of a school in Arizona named "Thunderbird", I knew then that the name is something to build on; not to rest on. Now lets see Trine University become one of the finest small colleges in the country. If that were to happen, Trine University! Oh! what a great name for a school! right?

How many learning institutions change names after over 100 years of existence?......I canít think of any either. The point is not to disregard all the wonderful improvements the Trines are responsible for at the University, itís about having a degree on the wall that is from a University that doesnít exist. How many prospective students would have enrolled at $20K plus per year, knowing that the University was going to assume a new name in the years to come? Even more insulting, is that the name change wasnít announced officially to TSU alumni until after the decision was final. Thanks Dr. Brooks, class move.
