My Husband and I bought a house 3 years ago that was a fixer upper. We have put alot of time into working on it. But there is still so much to be done that it is very overwelming at times. My husband works about 70 to 80 hrs. per week and I work about 65 to 70 hrs. per week. So we really never have a moment to relax. It would really be a blessing to have our home finished.

I am surprised to know that Olla Mae has not applied with any other social service in this city, because just given where her house is, she is eligible for services from many charitable organizations. Besides the government does it for free. And Olla Mae would not have to work off any hjours. I think it would be nice for the extreme makeover people could locate a homeless person/s and build them a home. Has to be a lot better than no home.

My parents have struggled since they were 16 years old to have a perfect little family. They have been together now for 36 years. They have lived through divorce, remarried, cancer and cancer again. They live in thier dream house and have for a few years. Unfortunatley, they have gone through a mother coming to live with them, lay offs and diability. My mother is now majorly depressed. She is a women that has so much faith however she has lived through breast cancer, lost her breasts, colon cancer and couldn't make a plan to go out with her husband or friends. eventually costing her job. Loss of money has made them consider putting there home for sale. If i could do it myself I would restore thier live, but I can't financially, however if there is an angle out there that can help me bless them and get my parents back, not only for me and my brothers and our children, but for them and the marriage that they have held onto for better or worse. I believe a home makeover would give them a renew to not give up and give in!!! Thank you!

Seems like so much on this show. They could buy 100? modular homes for what they spend on one house. How grateful the people would be for that if they couldn't rent a studio apartment. I wonder how they pay the electric bill in the new place.

I have been in a relationship with the most wonderful man ever. His name is Raymon and he is extremly overweight. His family lives in an old broken down trailer. The are the type of people that would give the clothes off their backs for anyone. His sister was killed an a car accident and they are still dramatized. They have been in a financial hardship for years. The home in whcih they live in is the home in which the daughter lived all of her life. Even thought the walls and floor are falling apart they still want to stay there. This is there home. I come am proud to call that my home even when it is falling apart. The love that this family has is more than anything. I have been dating Raymon for over five years and this family has become my family. I would love to see them with a better place to live. If I had the money I would with out a doubt build a house for all of us. However Raymon has no insurance and we are trying to save up enough money so that he can get his surgery. I love this family more than anything and they definently deserve a better chance at life.

I have been a renter for the last 11 years after my divorce. The last 5 years I have devoted much of my time to my parents and sister who have been in and out of hospitals. We lost my father in 2004 and my mom and sister this year. I'm the youngest of 5 childeren and my parents wanted me to have the home. I'm using my VA and plan to close on this house in the next 30 days. There is a much needed makeover. The living room, is the room, both of my parents went to be with the lord, I was blessed to be with them. This area and expression of Life and death the living room. I just want to open up the area and keep a family tradition alive at the corner of Tecumseh and Prophet.

I was extremely shocks and impressed to see what you are doing for the needy in USA. Please keep the good work and may god bless you, that will be a blessing if we can get these privilages in South Africa. I am a single parent with two kids, bought a house in Naturena 2005 and the houses there are so tiny and we couldn't move freely in the house. Late last year, I managed to save R40 000 and I managed to open on all sides of the house and I could go further due to interest rates going up making it difficult for me to cover all my expenses. 2007 I dicided to come to NZ were I thought things were going to be much better but turned out to be for the worse. As per New Zealand immigration policy they do not allow restricted permit holders to work secondary jobs which was my intention before I left home to raise money to complete my house on my secondary employement. I left my 14yr old daughter with my sister in an acceptable state house. The constrution companies that was doing the work, didn't do the work properly and some just dissappeared. My main problem on this house is the roof which allows the water to flow in during rain seasons and rats enter in the house through gutters that were not placed properly and they die in the ceiling causing the house to smell. Since my husband became Ill in 2002, with heart problems, we have pretty much lost everything,we ever worked for and I just thank God that my husband is still with me,we've had to move 3 times in the past year. we are currently renting a home in Ashley,In.. but we are barely making ends meet, and in the winter, the house stays very cold because there is no insulation, but because of all the medical bills and the foreclosure, we don't have many options available at this time. We cannot move, because we are unable to save any money at all! My husband also suffers from post traumatic stress and depression because of everything that has happened with his heart codition, and not being able to work...and the circumstances the way they are. I'm thankful that we have a place right now, but worry that we may have to move again, like so many people we are so close to being homeless at any time and so if we had our own place I know life would be alot less stressfull. My husband would do a lot better healthwise,it would be nice to get back on our feet somehow, and have a fresh start. I know there are many, many people in the same situation and it would be awesome for any of us to get some kind of hope.

I am writing and I know their are so many needy people that need to have a home makeover, but I want to nominate our family. We have been trying so hard to find a home that will fit the needs of our daughter who has sickle cell anemia, and my son who is also disabled. My wife and I work full time, but it is not enough to save up for one. She has to take off work when my daughter's pain flares up or if she has a crises, we're in the hospital, and my wife will never leave her side, not even for a shower or sleep, she's such an incredible women, she's god fearing, and she prays everyday to just have some help. We don't need a ton of money, or a huge home, just a home that has a yard my children can play in, a spa for my daughter so that she can get in it to help her joints. My wife even rents hotel rooms just for the spa so my daughter, not us can get in it to find relief. To be 3 yrs old she's the strongest little girl I know. She has the will power and endurance of a grown person. Its incredible. You can really tell she gets it from her mother. My wife works hard, rarely sleeps, and never complains. She just says "God blessed me with a beautiful child. She just has imperfections she must overcome. My job is to help her do that anyway I can." How self sacrificing is that. I just want her to have something that will make her life just a little bit easier. Somewhere she and my children can come home to and smile and know that dispite everything, it will be ok.
