It's sad and unfortunate that a young man died. It is also unfair that people in prison get free healthcare. On death row and sick? They can't kill you. They will treat you and once you are healed then they can kill you. The accommodations are not supposed to be inviting. Don't do the crime and you won't be mistreated. Simple as that.

This case is a tradegy (no matter where the person is) because he did not receive the proper/adequate medical care that he had the right to, as does everyone. He should have no rights! He's in jail for a reason. Jail is not supposed to be this great place for people to go to when they did something wrong. it should be horrible, so no one wants to go or be there! Yes, not all people are guilty, but most are and the rest are affiliated with the ones who committed the crime either way.

There are certainly people in prison for crimes they did not commit. But of those, I would bet you that a minimum of 90% of those are guilty as sin for crimes that they simply didn't get caught for. You hang out with your gang banging thugs, you're going to get wrapped up in with them... Simple as that.

From what I've read, this kid died of bacterial meningitis that he contracted while incarcerated. You have to have some basic form of compassion for him guilty or not. He was already paying for his crime being in jail. Did he really deserve the lack of medical attention?

Jeremiah did not belong there, he messed up, turned himself in, did his time and was making a difference in his life, doing everything to make up for what he did wrong, He was arrested because they say their computers were not current. WTF! Not everybody is Guilty when accused.

If he had got healthcare, he wouldn't have died there.

Mom of Jeremiah..I am sorry you lost your son. I never said everyone in prison is guilty. I simply said prison is not supposed to be a luxury hotel and I didn't think it was fair that people in prison get healthcare while others with life threatening diseases are dropped from insurance companies. I also hate the fact that people who had friends and families murdered or raped pay taxes to help feed, shelter and give medicines to the ones who murdered/raped there loved ones. Sometimes criminals have more rights then the victims.
I am sorry you lost your son and I hope you can find some sense of closure.

Thank-you. I understand what your saying. I agree that we tax payers shouldn't have to support rapers sand killers. But I would hate to put to death someone who is framed. My son was not anybody who would hurt anybody, and he had turned himself in and already had done his time and was working two jobs to support his new daughter. He was sick in bed on a Saturday morning and they took him out of bed and took him to Santa Rita. He died early Monday morning. Even his booking picture shows he felt like shit. If he hadn't been picked up I would have had him to the doctor that day. I need to discredit their physician who says Meningitis is no big deal, and they haven't had it at Santa Rita before. Please help me if you can. Beth

Mom of Jeremiah Woodman. Thank you for understanding my point of you. I am very sorry you lost your son. The doctor who said meningitis is no big deal is an absolute ass and doesn't seem to know what he is talking about. I hope you can get help with your sons case. He was a lucky guy to have such a caring and loving mother. Good luck and take care.

If any of you folks know of other forums I can write on, to search for anybody with information, please forward them to me at bethtackaberry@ymail.com Questions... 1. Were you there at Santa Rita Jail on or about March 31-April 2 2007? They say Meningitis is no big deal) 2. Did you know Jeremiah Woodman, in or out of Jail?(I'm having to defend his Character) 3. Do you have any complaints re; Santa Rita Jail. (It's not suppose to be an all expenses paid vacation, but it isn't suppose to be inhuman either.) 4. Have you ever been picked up for warrants that had already been cleared? If you know anybody who is willing to talk or email re: any of these questions. Please feel free to forward this. Thank-you...Jeremiahs Mom
