My name is Darlene Murphy and my mother Connie McClary applied for this program in which she was approved in the late part of last year. Your presentative Joyce came out along with your contractor Kirk in June to review the work order and sign the paperwork but they realized that they brought the wrong paperwork of another homeowner from Andrews and when I questioned the work being done they realized that it was not the correct contract for my mother. I ask them if we could make corrections on that paperwork and write up an addendum and they said that Joyce would be back in 2 days to bring the correct paperwork back. I also questioned Kirk on the work being done not totalling the $15,000 Budget for my mother's house he said they gave her and he could only account for approxiately $8,500 of the funds in which he said a generous portion went towards gas for him getting back and forth to work on the project. I then ask him for an idemize copy of the charges and Kirk got very angry towards me and I informed him that I only wanted to make sure that my mother received as much work possible to her home. They left and never came back in 2 days so I called their superior Pat, in which she showed no empathy for my mother at all. She basically called us a liar and refuse to have the work initiated at my mother's house. After pleading and begging her because my mother became very ill she promised me that she and 3 other people would be over to my mother's house to get the paperwork signed. Needless to say she never came by or called. So my sister and I called her back and she was very rude on the phone and refuse to listen to anything I had to say. She stated that she referred my mother paperwork back to Georgetown to be re-evaluated and they had to make the decision. At that moment I knew this wasn't good news for my mother. Everyday she questioned me if I heard from Pat and she basically worried about how they lied on her until her day of decease which was June 9, 2007. I called United Methodist church at the time the incident occured to informed them of what was going on and I couldn't seem to get through to the right person. I felt like they needed to know how their funds are being maxiumize and would hope that homeowners would be able to see more work done to their homes and not the majority of the funds distributed into the contractor's pocket. If United Methodist or anyone from the Post would like to contact me, my e-mail address is
