It'll take more than 3 employees to take the snow off 43,000 panels in the winter...
(note to self): must sell them miles of heat tape....

(Note to self) need to start selling brushes to remove snow from panels!

Brushes would of course be made in China though.

Yeah, you sure got that right! If only the Molly Maguires were around, they'd put him in his place!

Why is it that every time anyone in this valley, especially Kovatch Enterprises tries to start a project that would have a positive impact on the community, Sonny and his family are crucified for it? Anything that brings in more tax dollars to the community and school district should be welcomed with open arms. Of course the corporation wants to make money, that's how a business survives, but personal attacks come from jealousy, plain and simple.

I don't really know much about Kovatch, so I won't comment on him or his motives. But the idea of being able to provide power through solar energy to so many homes is fascinating.

What's fascinating is how this project even got off the ground? Anyone have a clue as to how many "SUNNY" days are in PeeAaa?

I'm thinkin' about all of your tax dollars being Pizzed-Away on this. Do you think maybe PPL would have tried it if at all profitable? I'm guessing they might know better than Sonny K???

John Gotti! Where are you!?
Kovatch is for Kovatch. If this thing is suppose to go up so fast and be so efficient; what the hell took so long and why aren't they all over the USA? Wow! 2 workers! Do they have to buy a firetruck to be employed?

YOu are obviously uniformed about how solar panels work. Solar panels run off of UV rays. Just like you can get a sun burn in the winter (skiing for example) or on an overcast day in July, the UV rays are constantly coming through, so you don't need "SUNNY" days for this to work.

The article describes the 100 acres of solar panels as being placed on a "prisine mountainside." Why couldn't they be placed on the rooftops of the industrial park? Why not in brownfields? Why sacrifice a "pristine mountainside" if solar panels can be placed in developed areas?

AS A FORMER RESIDENT OF THE AREA, I WAS SO EXCITED YESTERDAY TO READ THE ARTICLE.
NOW TODAY TO LISTEN TO ALL THE GARBAGE THAT IS BEING SAID, I GUESS SMALL TOWN JEALOUSY IS STILL MORE IMPORTANT THAN WHAT IS GOOD FOR THE COMMUNITY AND THE COUNTRY.
WE NEED ALTERNATIVE ENERGY AND YOU SHOULD BE THANKING GOD IT WILL BE COMING TO YOUR TOWN.
I DON'T KNOW MR. KOVATCH, BUT THANK YOU SIR!

Finally a well-thought out, strategic planning development project is heading for Carbon County versus the Commissioner's destructionist pattern of planning (i.e. demolition of the historic, culturally & architectually significant Packerton Yards to develop a non-smart growth, backwards-thinking, yore of the past industrial park). This project is also setting a standard for how we will address our energy issues instead of relying on foreign countries, and paying dearly, to meet our energy needs. Congratulations to all involved with this project. Let's make Carbon County the "Green" county to be modeled and envied by all.
