I here the Stanhope Council is looking into a fountain in front of borough hall, they want it as a memorial for past and present council members, whats that going to cost the people.

Maybe, just maybe, it will funded by private donation and fund raising.

They may use donations to build the fountain, but the town will have to maintain it, and a fountain is a high maintenance item. The Council's idea of "long range planning" is about 2 months.

Could be Daywalker, I'm not really familiar with fountains and their upkeep. I was just trying to make a point that the immediate implication is that of taxpayer monies being spent, but if we are objective, their are other funding options. Right away people accuse of the mismanagement of funds.

And just why do we need a fountain to memorialize councilman Murphy......

Well maybe as part of Mr.Murphy's community service for his DWI past and present, the Council should give him the duty of maintaining this fountain and not the residents of this town. They could put a switch on it so that somewhere around 1 or 2 in the afternoon it will pump out the beer of his choice at his expense of course. It shouldn't be an issue to him after he sells his new SAAB, because he can't drive it anymore.........or for right now anyway. This one may get swept away too. Just look at all the money, time and the lives that would be saved. Problem solved :-)

They just remodel the inside of the building, so now they need to improve the outside turd so it looks better.

Any time you ride by the town hall there always garbage on the ground, and the Admin sometimes walks to work but its beneith him to pick up garbage. So put a fountain in and people can put there garbage in the fountain.

Man the idea Murphy maintaining the fountain is a great idea. Cold definetly use an upgrading outside as mentioned but a fountain. Some nicer landscaping would probably do the trick.

They should work on the DPW building I here theres black mold in there break room cause the roofs been leaking for over 5 years. The council should fix that, the dpw boss has his own office so he not around the blackmold so its not his problem, it's his workers problems.
