Gov. Quinn, Sen. Durbin to discuss Thomson Correctional Center'...

Governor Pat Quinn will be in the Quad Cities Sunday morning to talk about an important role Thomson prison could play in the future.

No problem. They can send all of the Democrats health care violators to Thompson. It will fill up quickly and as an added benefit "create jobs, jobs, jobs!

Durbin is the biggest hack of all time. He will put all the citizens of the state at risk and especially Chicago to do political favors and create 1000 or so jobs. Gee seems worth worth it to make chicago a potebtial 9/11 target doesn't it. INSANE!

Yes, we need JOBS but not at the risk of all the people. This is a beautiful area not very far from Chicago which yes I agree with citizen above, we are just ASKING for trouble by doing this. Maybe if we didn't have all these crooked governors the state wouldn't be in shambles!Next these people will be blowing up our dams!!!

If Illinios has a chance to take some of their economic load off by allowing the federal government to take over the Thompson prision, then let common sense guide the way. If some people in Thompson think those prisoners would hang around after their release should realize that those people want to fade into a bigger city. If the Thompson prison was to house maxium security prisoners what is the issue! I would also like to know where Mr. Manzzulo stood on Thompson prison when it was in it's conception!? Just some comments with thought!

Another thought is the fact that those prisoners families probable won't move into that area, like in the Dixon area that has had influx of people out of the Chicago area. Dixon has a prison at the edge of their city limits. Thanks again

I understand the allure of creating jobs, but the prison industry is not the answer, Mr. Durbin! Especially the Gitmo-Industrial complex, which is making a profit from the illegal incarceration of enemy combatants. Durbin should working to restore the Geneva Conventions to our military policy. He’s simply reinforcing the Conventions' absence by helping place these illegal detainees in our backyards.
