My wife and I are planning a vacation to Savannah,Georgia and I felt that you locals would know what is best to see, visit , check out, eat at, sleep in. I am looking for suggestions that you as locals like to see and that would be very interesting to an outsider such as my wife and I . We are in our late 50's early 60's and we like flea markets, antebellum homes, antiques, historic sites. beautiful areas . Best place to view the Atlantic in the area. I have just been through 43 treatments for cancer and it would just be nice to get some reasonable views that would not cost us an arm and a leg. Good places to eat, to sleep, to visit, to view. Any suggestion would be appreciated. my email is dmartin49@hotmail.com and I live in Oklahoma. Thanks!

Savannah is worth the trip! You must visit River Street and the downtown park squares that were first established in 1735. I highly recommend the Pirates House for one of your meals. You will have to drive 30 minutes out to Tybee Island to see the Atlantic. If you don't mind driving about 1 1/2 hours down I-95, St. Simon's Island offers several beautiful beaches. You may want to see the main Catholic Church downtown, Forsyth Park, and the Juliette Gordon Lowe birthplace as well. I hope this helps!

Daily Horoscope for May 18

Capricorn

You really have some great ideas today, Cap. The question is whether you dare to put them into action. If you're hesitant about this it's because you suspect that your plans and opinions are too off-beat or unconventional, but are you sure that's true? Discussing them with people you trust could reveal a very different picture and make you realize that you've got your finger on the pulse. Have the courage of your convictions!
