do you texans mind so cal people moving to austin? we are so crowded here and this dosen't seem to be a good place to raise kids any more. I just think anderson mill seems really nice. we are a very honest and friendly family. would we be welcome? take care you all patsy

I live in Anderson Mill. I think you'll find that Texas hospitality is alive and well.

Anderson Mill is an older neighborhood, but it is very family and pedestrian friendly, with plenty of sidewalks and small parks.

My perception is that resentment of Californians is more of a central Austin thing.

Certainly I suspect you'll be very pleased at housing prices in Anderson Mill as compared to SoCal.

I moved to Pflugerville, TX from San Diego, CA 15 yrs ago and I have loved it. Pflugerville is just 15 miles north of Austin and Austin is the closest to South Cal atmosphere as you are going to see in Texas.
The people welcomed me with open arms.
I have to agree with Jim Howard. Central Austin or Downtown Austin is to judgemental and protective.
That is not the norm for Austinites.
