I moved up to Pioneertown, CA when I was 9. I lived right across the street from Pappy and Harriets. I used to rided my horse up and down the main street and had the time on my life. Then when I turned 19 I moved to Sacramento. Now I live in Roseau MN. I miss all the wonderful people that live there. Thanks you Pioneertown :)

My mistake, I didn't answer the original question of the forum! I now live 2700+ miles away in Portland, OR.

Born on Long Island, left for South Florida when I was 19. Spent 28 years there and now I'm in North Texas. Talk about culture shock!
I need fresh seafood and bakeries. Where are the bakeries? |

Born at Coronado Navy Base in California and grew up near the foothills of Los Angeles before they got developed, houses and malls.
Family moved to Santa Cruz, CA in 1968 when I was 13 and I have been here ever since. I love it here but really, really want to travel the USA in my motorhome and see the rest of this wonderful country of ours and meet all the great people who live in it. |

Lived in Bay Shore, went to Brentwood Ross. |

I just moved from Northern California (Lodi)to Noel, Missouri. I consider myself a Californian too. In fact, I brought a shirt with the Californian state flag with me, I'm just afraid of messing it. I hope to move back in a couple years, its way to different here.

Just one more thing, I miss the services offered in California. My ISP is from Iowa, while I live in Missouri. I cannot even use my cell here, and I'm stuck with a 2 year at&t contract.

i moved here from out west 37 years ago. UGH!!! i would love to go back home. there is NOTHING here. If you like living in the third world, come here. Nothing to do, no jobs, dumb a** people. I know, you think I should leave, but I've been here too long and my husband is a redneck. He won't leave his small town.

I was raised in Atlanta, MI and lived there for 34 years until my career moved me to Spiro, Oklahoma. I miss Michigan (even the weather) very much. Really hot here in the summer, humid, and let's not forget the tornadoes! Also, many more snakes, lizards and spiders than I care for.

I was raised in a small town of maybe 5,000 people, then moved 10 miles away. Hated the schools so I moved the kids back to the small town and they loved it. There really is "No Place like Home". I still have to cross the bridge to another state to work, but thats fine with me. I would not like to live in a big city. Too many rude and obnoxious people. Small towns are great.

I was born in Saranac Lake, NY and raised in Malone, NY. I moved to Michigan for college, lived in Sandusky and Elyira, OH for a few years after college and then eventually moved out to the Chicago metro area.
While I do sometimes miss the beautiful scenery of the Adirondack Mountains and the proximity to Canada, I never really felt at home in Malone. I actually felt more at home in the short time I was in Sandusky, OH than I ever felt growing up in Malone. The Chicago metro area has grown to feel like home to me as well. Although, I've never felt as "at home" as I did during my short spell living in Sandusky. That area really got under my skin and into my blood. |
