The entire northeast corridor needs some type of mass transit, the Fishers area is clogged at rush hour with traffic, much of it to or from downtown Indianapolis. Constant highway construction, while presently badly needed, especially on I-69, will not solve the long-term commuting problems. I know that State Rep. Terri Austin has spoken about the need for mass transit in the area, and I believe that Fishers Town Council President Scott Faultless has also spoken in favor of mass transit in the area. On this issue, he and I agree, although we disagree on many other issues. This is not and should not be a partisan issue and the need is not limited to Fishers. We all need to pull together for the common good and get something started. Gregory A. Purvis Democratic candidate, Fishers Town Council www.Purvis4Fishers.com

Good luck getting this done. There are still too many dinosaurs around who don't believe a problem exists.

I'm delighted to hear that the Fishers Town Council is serious about mass transit! If Marion and Hamilton counties pool resources, this can become a much-needed reality.
