When the powers that be hire friends instead of qualified people, the number of employees becomes inflated past levels that are adequate to run the company. Dave VanderGriend is directly to blame for turning a blind eye to this practice at ICM as the number of his employees has more than doubled in the last couple of years. Consequently, those that were hired because they knew one of the higher ups have kept their jobs during this layoff regardless of how much they actually knew about ethanol or how productive they were within the company. Shame on Mr. VanderGriend for taking a hands off approach in the growth of his company. He was too busy "promoting" ethanol to see that there were corrupt individuals who were only interested in furthering their own agendas.

it's not fair to put the blame solely on Dave. You know very well that the market and funding issues led to the layoffs. Yes, people hired friends, but they also hired family. You'll find bad eggs in any company...an owner has to extend some level of trust to his people, if that trust is breached, then that fault goes to the individual. If corruption was a factor, then those idividuals are to blame, not DVG.

Blame The Ethanol Stall-Out on the BIG OIL COMPANY'S they are the ones in the driver seat of where this country is going to go and are putting the billions of dollars in record profits right into there pockets. That is what is driving the price of everything up is their profits and no rules or regulations where the prices should be.
Ethanol is Awesome for the USA, but all the negativity comes RIGHT FROM THE BIG OIL COMPANYS.
Ethanol is VERY POSITIVE for the USA and we need to get the public to understand and support Ethanol. We NEED More Marketing and Education on Ethanol nationwide.
And Dave I Support you 200%

Please do your math and research before making an coment. Ethanol is VERY bad. It produces more CO2 and CO than gasoline. It takes more than a third more fuel to produce the same amount of power. If Ethanol was used in place of oil the results would be very dangerious.
