His congestion pricing plan is in shambles. His Olympic dream of a West Side stadium long-ago evaporated.

I think the author is drunk, is Boolmberg responsible for the rian but not the puddles? Did he invent the wheel? No he happend to be the mayor during the re-finance orgy. All of his deeds were slanted to his old buddies on wall street. A real putz

Seems the only research you did was reading Bloomberg's own press releases.

There is not one statistic that is positive under Bloomberg. He has managed to give out 20 year tax abatements to luxury developers, defend corporate tax loopholes, squander billions in public funds on private luxury projects, and triple his own fortune though.

What the anti bloombergites fail to realize is that we live in a capitalistic society. if you cant afford to live here then move. it is not your right to live here, it is a privilege. People complain about ruining "neighborhoods".... what neighborhoods? the stink hole that is the west side? the stench from the 10 blocks south of penn? give me a break!! bring in more condos and offices! walk inside the port authority bus terminal at 8pm and tell me that getting rid of these scales is a bad thing! out with the scum and in with the new!

The city is better now then it was 6 years ago. Thank you Mayor Mike.

If building luxury apartment buildings and turning NY neighborhoods into generic shopping malls for tourist to spend their money then Bloomie has made some true accomplishments:
True he had put GPS systems in cabs... But who does that benefit? Just gives me motion sickness while I am forced to watch advertisements.
What has been done for the people of NY or the City's infrastructure? The streets are worse then those found in the third world. And though the MTA has made promises of improving mass transit, I have only seen fares rise while trains and stations are over crowded and projects are delayed.
Bloomie you're an Ass.

Bloomberg you arrogant horned devil. You think it's the teachers fault for student failure but yet you fail to look at the terrible parenting that is being practiced. Had a youngster the other day tell me, "I didn't do my homework because my mother told me I didn't have to." I called his mother and she replied, I don't have no time to do this work, I'm busy." Bloomberg open your eyes and wake up you are becoming very unpopular with the people of New York.

Bloomberg became mayor to do business. He placates black people when his cops kill unarmed black people so angry blacks won't destroy the business he has been an agent in building up. Why he is popular with anyone but the rich is a mystery to me. The man has been terrible for the middle class in this city.

Basing tenure on students' standardized test scores is madness. Bloomberg you dummy understand this, a child in fifth grade who is reading and functioning on a second grade level is required by law to take the fifth grade exam. The child does not understand the text as well as comprehend the questions being asked. So when this student receives a 1 on his/her eaxams the teacher will be denied tenure. You need to focus on your main project for the remainder of your term the WTC site. Your legacy will be known as a man with considerable wealth and power but little strength in swaying New Yorkers to back his phony agendas and idiotic plans for improving the quality of life for New Yorkers.

Moneybags Bloomberg hasn't accomplished a durn thing except in converting NYC into a generic tourist trap. He's been zealous in union busting, wastes taxpayer dollars in constructing luxury condos, unneeded stadiums, not repairing the infrastructure, etc.

So maybe the masses should rebel against the "HAVES", drag you all out into the street from your high priced condo's and take your freakin heads off, sop that we may then redistribute your wealth. Moron...

The city for your information is NOT better than it was. It is different, but not better... Schools which he had to change state law to take over are NOT any better. The drop out rates are still ridiculous. Businesses still are leaving the city in droves, replaced by low skill, low wage jobs mostly oriented in the service or tourist industry's. Most of those high rise bldg's you see being built are still empty, including office towers. Hotels are busting at the seams though due to the US $ being so cheap...

Unprecedented construction on residential units is continuing throughout the city with NO CHANGES IN INFRASTRUCTURE... This means more people, parking, taking the transit, more enrollment in schools, medical care etc., etc. Yet, you say TOO BAD for those who can't afford it... Well if I have lived here for my entire life WHY should I MOVE cause you want to put a million dollar condo where my house is? What gives you precedence?

I feel we should move off of the Financial model of society you so describe and go back to a more basic one, Survival of the fittest... This way, I'll just TAKE what is yours while you sit at the curb crying like a baby...

A man who had no problem with the congestion, which a west side stadium would cause, now has a problem with traffic congestion. Just another wealthy bully who likes
controlling middle class working people. I certainly wont miss him once his term is up.

No changes to infrastructure???

More buses and taxis....and using hybrid engines. all will be converted to hybrid by 2015 i believe.

the 2nd avenue subway is actually a reality after 60 years of red tape.

cutting the nonessentials in govt, by taking away nyc paid cars from people who dont need it, taking away offices and implementing matrix style bullpens.

mayor mike for president.

New York has changed. Tremendously.I have lived here since childhood. But now live in the burbs. Everyone was a friend and neighbor, during the 50's to early 80's in Manhatten. I especially loved the that time. Much creativety, culture and friendships were formed. Today NYC is a pressure cooker of change, big business, big brassy buildings, and cut throat real estate deals. It is now a showplace, for the upwardly mobile, big business, and tourists. I was born in Manhatten and lived on the upper East Side, most of my life...and have seen the all, as its sweetness and gentility waned, and the changes took hold. I had the benefit of growing up on the upper East Side. Central park was my playground, and I had all the advantages the city had to offer. It was a charmed life. I no longer feel NYC is a charming place to be...it is harsh and cold, and not as friendly as before.

Brooklyn was chugging along on its own, thank you very much, becoming the cultural center of the city long before Bloomberg came into office.

Some of the waterfront rezones are bad from a sustainability point of view (really dumb to turn Stapleton, SI, a deep water port with rail access into a residential+mall complex, and the idea to make the Red Hook port a beer garden) or are outright classist (put up more esplanades with luxury condos and run out all the community-centered activities that sprouted when the neighborhood was cusping.)

Too much reliance on eminent domain, tramelling of public process and handing over real estate to big players with connections (eg, donate to NYC 2012 and get a variance!).

and, Hello?, how about Atlantic Yards?!
