It's really pathetic that you can't have a nice home without worrying about a bunch of rotten kids messing things up. I think a fitting punishment would be to have the little heathens do FREE yardwork and maintenance for the people whose property they vandalized say, for a couple of years? Maybe if they had to take care of the property they'd have some respect for the rights of others.(and please, don't anyone say "all kids do this;" all kids do NOT go around destroying property)

very true ! smae as all adults not doing crime..
I agree, let the homeowners do "yard work" in their houses or to their personal items..maybe the parents, if any, will keep a better check on where these kids are. They cant be doing this anytime but late night or early eve as no one is catching them?

If the biggest worry someone in a half million dollar house has to worry about is a $30 repair, than their life is not so bad. Some people have worse problems. Why is this a news story?

You are incorrect. The vandals in these neighborhoods are usually local teens. They don't stand out as being out of place.
Kids from NYC/NJ don't have the luxury of cruising around wasting time. They have to focus on tasks that bring in money. They may steal something to re-sell but they don't damage property for kicks. Kids fighting for survival are looking to make a buck, not bring the cops down on them. Vandalism is for stupid white kids that have no appreciation for what they have.

I hope you're not a parent. If you are it's probably you're d-a-m-n kids that are going out and doing s-h-i-t like this with an attitude like that. I'm sure it's not all about the money to make the repairs they are worried about. It's that these punk kids now-a-days have absolutely no respect for anything. Today it's broken lights. Tomorrow they'll be breaking in to the homes.

This message is also directed at whatever.

Maybe the "punk" kids that have no respect for anything are that way because their materialistic parents have handed them everything in life. Maybe the "punk" kids are just bored, spoiled brats that aren't busy with jobs or chores. And I am a parent, and my children work, even though thy are 15 and 16. They don't have time to run around at night. Twenty bucks they catch the vandals and tey are all white, upper middle class snots whose parents will hire Karoly to get them off.

"Krazy" and "Whatever," I completely agree with you. If the kids aren't punished for vandalizing property, at what point DO they get punished? They have to be taught right from wrong, plain and simple. Parents need to keep track of their kids, they need to get involved in their lives. "Whatever," you're right, kids need to be kept busy enough that they don't have time to get into trouble; I had a job when I was the age of your kids myself. The article mentions seeing kids out at 2:00 in the morning. I believe if kids, esp. in their young teens, are caught out at that time, that they and their parents should have a VERY good excuse for their being out and if they don't have a good excuse, BOTH the parents and kids should be punished. This attitude among many people of "it's just kids being stupid" has got to stop.

I think that it is really the government who is at fault for a lot of how kids are now adays. They have so many rules that you are not really able to punish a child anymore. All the child has to say is abuse and they are on you like flies on rice. Everytime a child does wrong the government gives a little tiny punishment that is not enough to scare the children and they are back at it because they know they can do it and no one will be able to stop them. I think a lot of children now days have to many rights. There is nothing wrong with a spanking on the butt with you hand only once in a while to turn them around. Now you do you you go to jail.

Along with the rich folk moving here to save money (and raise our taxes) comes the NY & NJ SKUM with them.
Of course, it could be the rich folks bored kids out looking for "fun" and something to do.
You can rest assured no trailer park trash will be coming in from NJ., those inbreds are a product of PA. I guess people with money should stay out of PA so more trailer parks can be built, mentality of PA, we don't want those expensive nice homes going up when we can have a trailer and fit 200 people on that same prperty and improve the landscape.
I love those that are so jealous of people that have worked and have money, nice house, etc. they just can stand it.

I am sure that PSP will be extending its full resources to solve this crime spree in Lower Macungie. I am sure they are familiar with the kids in the neighborhood and the adults and will get to the bottom of this. Surely they will.

The disgrace here is that LMT doesn't have its own police force. A town our size can't even handle these tiny infractions. What are we going to do when real trouble shows up?

I don't condone the vandalisim.... but when I hear things like moving to '...a quiet area where you can raise your family', I can't help but think 'well, it was a quiet area... until someone planted hundreds of homes for as far as the eye can see.' The area is no longer quiet, what did you expect? You have hundreds of neighbors and locals pissed off by the over-development. Get used to it, it'll only get worse.

I see the little sh*ts have decided to hit the newer houses in LMT. THey hit my place the last 2 years. THey vandalized my sister in law's SUV and last year they smashed my pole light. My pole light was over $100 and it was not an appreciated hit to my wallet. I have since then put in motion sensors and if I catch any of these brats in the act there is going to be some permanent hurting handed out.

More class envy and jealousy from the local ring baloney eaters.

Tell the truth, what really bothers you is that a Black man, with an education, lives in a 500,000 dollar house. I'm not Black but I live in what you call a "McMansion" and worked hard to get where I am. I came out of the Coal Region, served my country, went to college, worked as an executive in New ork and now spend my pension in the Vally. I also pay school taxes which are being used to send your kids and grandkids to school

Get used to it: the "outsiders" are here to stay!
