Here's an abbreviation of the fun involved in just finding these Renata Mauro and Cocki mazzetti videos on YouTube (see other threads for more detail)....view them back to back and see if they don't crack you up!:

Love those two videos; Cocki Mazzetti's gregariousness juxtaposed with reserved Renata Mauro. This is another clip of Cocki mazzetti; she appears around :47....

Here's a fun video of Cocky Mazzetti; so much of her music is upbeat and uplifting, makes you happy (as does this video--it's pretty funny):

Gotta post this again--it's hilarious; such a charming video of self-conscious teenagers where you can practically feel their sweaty palms; great photos of Cocky Mazzetti at the very end:

This came to mind when hearing Renata Mauro's stu poco e bene the other day (and Cocki Mazzetti's voice sounds just like it does when older singing Un Caffe in the video posted above):

Love this song--first heard it done by Miles Davis on his 'Sketches of Spain' and then heard a Paco de Lucia classical guitar version; hadn't known there were lyrics to it--this is quite good:

Looks like there is a good video of Paco de Lucia "Live at the Montreux Jazz festival 2012 (HD)"--posted by Jaerfero--but unable to pull it up fully for some reason....caught only the first 30 seconds or so, sounds like it may begin with Concerto de Aranjuez. Wonder who Cocky Mazzetti had on guitar?

Cocky Mazzetti's Concerto de Aranjuez didn't grab me on first listen, but listened 3 or 4 more times and each time listening like it more and more. Really love the song.

The Wiki page of 'Concierto de Aranjuez' is extremely interesting. Though Wiki is not wholly reliable, and it shows "citation needed" after this point, was interetsed to read:

"Until asked to perform and interpret Concierto de Aranjuez in 1991, the Spanish flamenco guitarist Paco de Lucía was not proficient at reading musical notation. De Lucía claimed in Paco de Lucía-Light and Shade: A Portrait that he gave greater emphasis to rhythmical accuracy in his interpretation of the Concierto at the expense of the perfect tone preferred by classical guitarists.[14] Joaquín Rodrigo later declared that no one had ever played his composition in such a brilliant manner[citation needed]."

The Wiki page lists many people who have covered 'Concierto..' but it fails to mention Cocky Mazzetti. Just listened to hers a fifth time and really do enjoy it.

Aranjuez is just south of Madrid; it's possible I went through it on train from Madrid to Algeciras in 1984. I don't recall if we went directly SW from Madrid (which route might have included Aranjuez), or a SE route first on our way down. Didn't pay close enough attention back then unfortunately.

That Paco de Lucia Montreux Jazz festival video looks pretty good but could still only get about 3 minutes of it before the video stops (on this public library computer). It doesn't sound like that first song is 'Concierto....', perhaps he plays it later.

Renata Mauro's Italian Wiki page provides a little more info than the English page; this part is pretty interesting--happened to learn of Luigi Tenco when viewing some of Dalida's San Remo festival videos:

Renata Mauro:

"....Remembered for being the one who announced along with Mike Bongiorno to the public of the Sanremo Festival in 1967 the news of the death of Luigi Tenco , as a presenter of RAI - Italian Radio and Television presented, as well as the Sanremo Music Festival, the ' Eurovision Song Contest 1965 , held for the first time in Italy , from Naples . From 1967 to 1970 also showed up Games without frontiers with Enzo Tortora and Giulio Marchetti ."

Apparently he committed suicide during the Festival.

That's a solid video (Audrey's "Breve Amore"); great b/w. Can only find one other of hers, it's called "Opla", and while Audrey is very good in it, the song does not have much appeal for me. But it too is very nice b/w. An interesting comment is found under that video from only a month ago:

captatnonmuscas1 month ago Audrey Arno was a German singer. Her biggest success she had in France during the 1960s.[2] For a time, she was known there simply by her first name, Audrey. Since the beginning of the 1970s, she lived and worked in Nevada. Sadly she passed away a year ago. RIP

Very interesting. Audrey Arno has an informative Wiki page explaining she died of Alzheimer's disease at the age of 70 (June 9, 2012). A link is provided of her obituary in the Las Vegas Review Journal.

Had I learned of Audrey sooner on Youtube would have attended her funeral service (I was in St. George, UT around that time last year if remembering correctly).

That's very sad. Just by finding those two videos, and reading the Wiki page you feel like you knew her.

Her "Breve Amore" video is excellent. Apparently it wasn't posted onto YouTube until about 3 weeks following her passing.

That's a great song....really captures the feel of the 1960's. It's also known as "You Never Told Me"; Mina has a good cover too:

Mina - Breve amore (1966).
