In last post above forgot to mention that Tolstoy refers to Karamzin's 'Poor Liza' in War and Peace--reading War and Peace now and recently came across the reference and recognized having read 'Poor Liza' about a year or two ago; Karamzin has great writing...his Island of Bornholm has a great quote about a teardrop in an ocean (depicting the untold suffering in this world)....

Just found a live George Benson track on Youtube;
Excellent...one of his very best....the bongos are good in the same song on his "Beyond the Blue Horizon"; a jazz book stated the opinion 'Beyond the Blue...' is better than his 'White Rabbit'; unsure about that--especially as Beyond the Blue has electric organ which can be annoying--but "Gentle Rain" has some of, if not the best fret work of George Benson (particularly on 'Beyond the Blue Horizon'):

Here it is from 'Beyond the Blue Horizon'; begins with electric organ a bit but not nearly so pronounced as some of the other tracks:

Meant to write earlier it's the sociological defintion of eugenics that applies here; epitomized through Margaret Sanger (Nazi Germany) wherein the "weak and unfit" are considered an unnecessary burden on society.

Again, not to even go into the abortion issue, but how many Columbia, SC council members are "Right to Life" members? Right to Life often cites Planned Parenthood (Margaret Sanger the founder) as the largest provider of abortions in the country. Yet they're forced removal of poor people from society is completely synonymous with Sanger's reported beliefs.

Just viewed that again--it's fantastic. Love that video. Brings to mind the style of Betty Curtis.

Definitely prefer the one posted by SAMA 45100 though. Still can't pull up the one where she climbs the tree--that one is excellent.

Like he often does, Noam Chomsky nails it:

From 'Democracy Now'(when googling "Noam Chomsky Syria" Weds. eve. 9/11/2013):

In a national address from the White House Tuesday night, President Obama announced he is delaying a plan to strike Syria while pursuing a diplomatic effort from Russia for international monitors to take over and destroy Syria’s arsenal of chemical weapons. However, Obama still threatened to use force against Syria if the plan fails. We get reaction to Obama’s speech from world-renowned political dissident and linguist, MIT Professor Emeritus Noam Chomsky. "The Russian plan is a godsend for Obama," Chomsky says. "It saves him from what would look like a very serious defeat. He has not been able to obtain virtually any international support, and it looked as though Congress wasn’t going to support it either, which would leave him completely out on a limb. This leaves him a way out: He can maintain the threat of force, which incidentally is a crime under international law. We should bear in mind that the core principle of the United Nations Charter bars the threat or use of force. So all of this is criminal, to begin with, but he’ll continue with that."

Funny.
