I hope she can make a go of the bamboo business and many others follow her lead. Bamboo has many uses and can create many jobs.

I was amazed by the qualities of this remarkable plant as I learned more about it during last five years in China. Not only is it an incredibly strong fibre used in construction and in many thousands of physical uses, it is a tasty morsel used in hundreds of recipes. Its strips make a cool and comfortable mat to sleep on in tropical heat and its fibres are woven into articles of clothing for very comfortable to wear in sweltering heat and smart looking too. The bamboo is a miracle plant and the people in Oregon have a got great thing going! I'm more than curiuos why the west hasn't caught on to the advantages and benefits of bamboo...maybe its a cultural thing/barrier....

Need more bamboo. Build huge bamboo rafts and put topsoil on them, plant bamboo on them and dock them along the ocean. Use roof tops also.
